I couldn't live without my gmail. So much better than my ancient hotmail account. Of course I run two gmail accounts now, and my first one I made back in 2005 or so when you needed an invite.
I never really used email enough to care what I used.
Also, key lime pie with fresh strawberries is awesome.
Is it real key lime, made with key limes? I ate when people make lime pie and call it key lime, they taste different! Sorry, this was a discussion my mom and I had since we both love Key Lime pie.
That and I am jealous because I love both it and strawberries.
I also use google docs, gtalk and picassa from google. They own my soul almost as much as Sony.
Made with real key lime juice, but not fresh squeezed or anything. It was quick, cheap key lime but we're saving for the move and it curbed the craving.

I've pretty much completed my emergency medicine course here at Fort Sam... I wonder if, if I look into this West Point thing, they're going to make me be an officer in this field. I don't know if I want to be a trauma Lieutenant with zero experience.
Hopefully the military isn't quite that incompetent in that particular fashion.
No, that's exactly how officer commissions work. When we were in basic, we were sometimes training alongside ROTC guys that would just come out on the weekend and do a watered-down version of what we were doing, just for "exposure." We'd laugh at them, because we knew that they were going to finish college, then go to basic training, and then be officers, taking command of enlisted personnel that would have their level of experience or more. Sometimes decades more. Guys that are just coming off officer commissions are called "Brand New LT's", and they're a joke in the army. The only people that go to attention for them are boot-ass privates like myself, and even we're pretty relaxed about it. I mean, as relaxed as you can be about going to attention.
I mean, they'll have me go through a little more training. But it's still only training, not real experience, and I'd be expected to take command of a group of soldiers which could be as small as a platoon or as large as a company.
I distinctly recall The Cat participating in a lengthy and bitter discussion about how shit Australian ISPs are.
Also stuff about soil science.
Yeah, this forum doesn't really spend much time on my official areas of expertise :P
Does any forum? I don't think I have ever taken part in a social forum that discusses my degree area in an actually useful, interesting, or in the form of a kindly scientific discussion in any way. I guess Genomics is just not an area people are interested in the basics of, they more just want to say "I've got a penis because XY bitches!".

Good point - do people here frequent specialist websites/forums for their work/study area? I'm not even sure active useful forums exist for my work - and if they did, they would most likely sit behind some sort of paywall given the industry and the existing specialist publishers
Forgive my ignorance but I think I was absent for the exact reasoning for the breakup in the first place. But I would assume that if it was she who broke up with you then I find it hard for her to not realize that there may be some hard feelings.

I would, but I'm pretty sure they're all full of assholes.
I always figured they should. But my guess they have never seen two women fight each other, its scary.
The UK army recently did a review again (they have to every eight years). They completely agree that women would be fully capable of serving, they pulled out the usual 'unit cohesiveness!' bullocks.

I think there might be one in 20 years or so, but most of my learned colleagues are like 45 and up. They don't really do social media.
All the better that my sister didn't go to West Point.
She would have gotten ALL of us killed.
Uh, last time I checked pretty much no country let women serve in combat roles. Especially not the USA.
That's true, but only technically. There are a few ways women can serve in combat. For example they can be combat medics because combat medics technically aren't supposed to engage or be engaged in combat (One of the platoon sergeants in my company is a female, has a 1st Cavalry combat patch, and a combat medical badge). Same goes for truck drivers, and probably some other MOS's I'm not aware of.
Plus, you know, you don't have to be in combat to get someone killed. Especially as an officer.

Ahh excellent. I love key lime pie.

Immediate response should have been:
Because I love angry sex.
My short-lived experience with Australian Internet made me hate my country slightly less.
And I for one welcome discussion of soil bacterium and their diffusion in different layers of sediment. :P
Anything bring it up? Or was it out of the blue?

Should I try using the im thing on okcupid to talk to this girl I have been messaging back and forth?
Why not?
I freak out that I sound to pushy or something.
Her psychosis demands conflict first thing in the morning, I guess.
jesus man
switching to IM isn't like trying to steal second base
go for it

Ehh, looked like she logged out. Will try next time. Figure I can't make more of an ass of myself than normal.
I would, but I'm pretty sure they're all full of assholes.

I wasn't exactly suggesting she'd be infantry.
Not myspace angle fat, where you can disguise it
No, just plain ol' fat
I always figured they should. But my guess they have never seen two women fight each other, its scary.
I haven't walked the same since my sister took up karate and my dad convinced me to spar with her.
I need some solidarity here backing my decision that I should not be attempting to talk to her.
This one isn't. Actually a red head to boot. Thus why I think I am freaked because it is someone I am actually kind of attracted to.
If you talk to her you will end up like me.

Yup just checked my profile and the only people to view it since the last time I checked are more fat chicks
Goddammit
Whoa, man, I wasn't asking for a heart attack.
God.

Israel?
Also, define combat roles. Would somebody in the Navy be in one, because there are plenty of ladies de-gaying those boats.
hi
They say that, but frontline/notfrontline distinctions are pretty much dead now, so its largely an excuse to pay female soldiers less.
I feel that, being 19 and in college, it would be just wrong for me to sign up for a dating site.
Unless maybe I wanted to meet some cougars...
But I'd probably only attract ugly cougars.
