Book binding

I just spent $18 on a nice Hellboy trade and wouldn't you know it - some of the pages are separating from the spine. A quick Google on how to rebind the pages gives me this, which, while nifty, requires I make my own tool and it's also set up to bind whole books, and not just small groupings of pages. So what's the best way to do this? What kind of glue should I use? Should I just apply the glue to the spine and put the pages back in? Thanks for any help anybody can give me.

I've never rebound a book, but I seem to remember a small amount of Elmers wood glue wiped along the inside edge of the spine can help things. Clean up any excess of course.

I've personally had bad luck when gluing a single page back into a book. The glue always spreads too much which glues the page to the other pages and, while readable, they don't part and the same place as all the other pages in the book which makes holding the book strange.

It's certainly a passable thing you don't mind that, but if you want something higher quality, you might want to get someone who knows what they are doing involved.
