Scuffed my brand new watch.

I was given an awesome watch earlier this week and managed to scuff the thing up last night. All it took was accidentally brushing against a concrete wall. I am pretty devastated, I have never owned a nice watch before. Is there any way to buff out the scuffed part? Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Unfortunately I managed to nick the glass face also.

Its hard to see because of my phone camera. The scuff is pretty big though, right above the XII. I am so mad at myself.

Ouch, that sucks. Is the watch stainless steel? Some finishes of stainless steel can be sanded out, but it's important to know if you have the right finish.

Also, that is a little more of a scuff than I've seen remedied.. I'm not saying it can't be done, just.. eh. Maybe take it to a jeweller's.

The watch is stainless steel. I don't have a dremel, but I could easily get one.

If you want it to look a bit nicer, a jeweller is your best bet. You can try it yourself with a dremel, but if aren't skilled with it you might just only further screw up your watch.

Definitely don't do it yourself. Take it to a jeweler, talk to them and see what they could do. Get a quote.

There are repair places online for Gucci watches. These places are not cheap.

I can't offer any advice that hasn't been offered.

But god that is a sexy watch.

The thing is though that these things are inevitable, so if you plan on wearing a nice watch all the time, just be prepared for the fact that it will get scuffed up and scratched and stuff. If it's a super nice watch I'd recommend you just wear it on nicer occasions, because any watch you wear all the time will get banged up, and there isn't any way to prevent it from happening besides not wearing it.

Yea, I didn't plan on this being a daily watch. I just can't believe I did this the first time wearing it out. Thanks everybody. I'm going to take it to a jeweler and have them buff it as best they can.
