I did like that book he did for Pilot Season though, The Core.

Pax Romana was a nice read - the art is a bit strange in a few spots, but the story is bang on. I'd recommend it.
I can definitely see Hickman having a Fraction-esque career trajectory, if he can maintain a multi-book output.
