Those are some really terrible scans, I wish we had better. The first few pages feel like entropykid is writing. :?

Figured I'd post here rather than start a pointless Hickman thread, but uh what is the deal on this guy? I picked up the first two issues transhuman based on the hype around him and found it all a bit uninspired, the writing was pretty awful, with the failed attempts at humor among other things sticking out. Is transhuman just really bad, I mean is nightly news and pax romana(sp?) any better? I know all this stuff is a matter of opinion but I don't really get all the hype around this guy, it seems like its starting to build to a Fractionish level in some places.
Basically what I'm asking is did he slip up with transhuman?

I really haven't read much of Hickman's stuff.

I did like that book he did for Pilot Season though, The Core.

Nightly News was absolutely wonderful, and I'd recommend it to everyone here; especially those of you who enjoy your comics without capes as much as you do with.

What about Pax Romana? That one particularly intrigued me, but I'm not sure..

I was extremely disappointed that we only got one issue of THE CORE.

Pax Romana was a nice read - the art is a bit strange in a few spots, but the story is bang on. I'd recommend it.

I can definitely see Hickman having a Fraction-esque career trajectory, if he can maintain a multi-book output.

Pax was awesome but so late that I ended up missing issue #3 and 4 because my shop just ran out and didn't order any more so I've decided that from now on with all of Hickman's creator owned stuff I'm just going to trade wait.
