help me name this movie/tv show?!

i remember one and ONLY one scene in this movie and it's been eating away at me for the entire day

so there's this criminal locked in some interrogation room with the interrogator. he's handcuffed and possibly keeping the interrogator occupied and distracted.

while this is happening there is a closeup of either one of his fingers or his thumb. they are crusted with blood. he slowly digs out either a pin or paperclip from underneath one of the nails, picks the handcuffs free, and attacks the interrogator.

the only part of this i am 100% sure of is the scene where he digs out the lockpick from his nails.

my google-fu has failed me, help me H/A!

I remember the scene, I think it's from a movie made in the early to mid-90's, but can't remember the name for the life of me. Maybe the scene in Silence of the Lambs where Lecter has his hands cuffed behind his back in the cage?

In con air one of the baddies is in a tiny one man cell and pulls a straightened paper clip out of the palm of his hand, unpicks his cuffs and attempts to attack a guard. Then a red indian fellow gets set on fire by Dave Chappelle.

Nah, I remember seeing it too, but can't remember what it was. He definitely digs it out from under his nail.

Yeah. It's killing me, but I can also remember this, and it definitely isn't the scene from Con Air.

i don't remember it well (particularly the fingernail thing, though maybe i blocked that memory out)

but it definitely has hannibal using a makeshift handcuff key while he is being interrogated, then attacking

edit: according to google he uses a bent bit of metal he had broken off of someone's pen

I specifically remember someone taking a piece of something from under a nail and i THINK they undid their handcuffs with it

It's not Silence. When Lecter escapes he pulls the piece of metal out of his mouth and uses it to open his handcuffs. You can see that bit on YouTube.

It's not Silence. When Lecter escapes he pulls the piece of metal out of his mouth and uses it to open his handcuffs. You can see that bit on YouTube.

And that scene happened in a cleared out loft of some sort, not an interrogation room.

Can the OP at least remember the race of the folks in the interrogation room - that would help narrow it down by actors staring in thrillers.

No wonder I couldn't remember what movie it was - I've only seen about 10 minutes of it. It was on cable one night, I was curious about an Adrian Brody movie that didn't hit theaters to my recollection, and featured Maura Tierney, and I just happened to catch that scene. And yeah, the whole pulling metal out from under fingernail thing was disturbing enough that while I remember that visual pretty vividly, that was pretty much it.

Oh, the Google search that finally nailed it was: "from under his fingernail" + movie. It actually only netted 2 related correct results, a random mention using that exact phrasing on someone's responses to a facebook survey.

oh man, that was it! my friend had suggested it was adrian brody but I wasn't too sure.

ugh, that fingernail scene is much more vivid than i remember though.
