Looking for the title of a game

Jerry mentioned it a few years ago in a post - it was a side scrolling space ship shooter developed by some (japanese?) guy. Basically it was like every other space shooter except it had been turned up to 11, and you shot "shapes" more than ships really. It was ridiculously fast paced and frantic, had awesome music and a weird naming convention.

I think it was a 3-4 letter name like x37 or w17[x].

Anyone remember it?

    Was the 3 letter name 68k?


    Cho Ren Sha 68k     is the first bullet hell to come to mind, and I think the file name is just "68k"

    Cant check that link because work blocks it, but that name doesnt ring a bell and I don't remember it being a single executable. I remember it being and archive with a bunch of folders (it may have included the source code as well).

    Of course that *could* be it. I'll have to wait till I get home.

    Hrm, was it definitely side scrolling?

    If it was vertical, could it be something like Parsec47, Noiz2sa, rRootage? They're that sort of game, but off the top of my head, i can't think of any similar horizontal shooters.

    Yeah, I still thought 68k just because... Horizontal Bullet Hells? I don't think I've ever seen a horizontal bullet hell

    None of them match exactly, but that's what I thought of.

    EDIT: Start with Parsec47.

    Sorry guys wrong term: Yes it was a horizontal scroller like 68K. I remember the post mentioning several such games.

    I'm almost positive its Parsec47 - I'll check when I get home.

    Gah. I was almost going to suggest rRootage too because of the "shooting at shapes" thing.

    Yes!! It was parsec47!

    Sorry about the naming convention - within the archive that you download is a folder "p47" Thats what I remember playing and why I remembered the name being short.
