Let's Play: Overlord 2 - Set 22 - The most evil ending

Overlord II is a 2009 third-person action-adventure game and sequel to the 2007 video game Overlord, developed by Triumph Studios and published by Codemasters
for the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Continuing the style of the series, the game is set in a fantasy realm where players take the role of the Overlord, a mysterious evil warrior whose goal is to destroy and conquer the land by commanding hordes of small gremlin-like creatures known as "Minions". The story directly follows the events of the first Overlord game, with the succeeding Overlord rising to power opposing a Roman-styled military power known as the "Glorious Empire". The story was written by Rhianna Pratchett (daughter of Terry Pratchett) and keeps a satirical tone and dark humor towards the fantasy setting and genre.
Welcome to my new Let's Play: Overlord 2!
I absolutely adored the first game and spent countless hours on leading my rag tag group of crazy minions through the land to slaughter emo elves, drunken dwarves and extremely obese halflings.
Now that I finally have the chance to done a new suit of armor and take reign over my minions once again to fill the lands with the cries of the innocent, I decided to make a Let's Play out of it so everyone can join me on my trip to world domination!
As usual there will be jokes, German-ness, musical numbers and of course lots and lots of EVIL.
I hope you are all going to enjoy it!
This is... superb? No. That's not a good enough description. Awesome? Damn, even that fails to describe it. Superfantasicawesome!? Hmmm... It'll have to do. It's still not close to doing it justice though.
I actually considered getting this game when it came out and decided against it for some reason. From this first set, that may have been a huge mistake on my part. Might have to see if I can still find a copy. This has vibes of Dungeon Keeper about it and those are vibes that I like.
Where to begin with what this set did right.
Your minions breaking out into song... the snowman masks... the sheer glee with which you pile them onto your enemies and watch as they not only massacre them, but also nick their gear. And let's not forget bowling using formations of soldiers and a catapult.
I'm going to enjoy this LP. After a trip to the dentist in which two teeth were removed from my skull, getting the finale of Infernal and the start of this in short succession... well, it's things like this that make a guy feel so much better.
I've never beaten the first in the series, but had some fun times anyway.
Looking forward to following this LP. Looks like it's off to a vile, evil start. Which is a good thing.
This game looks really awesome, as well. I may just have to pick it up for myself, as it really is charming looking, and the little touches I've seen so far are quire endearing. Also it is hilarious.
Finally, a guy on this forums who doesn't think Overlord II was too short, too easy, or not funny enough. Keep up the good work, I loved the German jokes. Also, at 9 minutes into the first video, it looks like you're repeatedly whacking a guy on the floor in the balls with your club.

"Take that, Polish border!"
Honestly, I think the WWII-schtick is pretty funny, mostly in the context of "Overlording German".
This looks great. Should be fun considering you managed to make Infernal entertaining, even though that game was pretty average. Looking forward to this one!
I am really curious if they've done anything to improve minion control in this one. Also, level design. I played through the first and really did like it, but I found that as your group of minions got larger and mixed, controlling them became a lot more difficult as you have to start putting them somewhere with precision.
And I actually got turned off for awhile in the forest level of the first one due to not being able to find where I needed to go to finish killing off the things to get at the tree guy. I don't want to watch the videos in case I want to pick this one up too.
If you don't want a walkthrough, you're pretty much just left with the option of exploring every single area until you find the next minion hive, that allows you to clear some of the closed-off areas.
Yea, I ended up finishing the first one after enlisting a walkthrough. But I must have searched, what I thought, was every nook of that forest like 5 times before giving up on finding the last two deals to destroy. After that it wasn't nearly as bad, but I HATED that forest.

"This noble beast belongs with us. Come here. come here boy! As if we magical folk didn't have enough problems of our own with the Empire, without the likes ofyou trying to expunge us!"
I honestly thought the Yeti was going to twat him one. Instead the oversized furball went with them and - to add insult to injury - began petting a baby seal! The sooner something can be done about this sickening kindness, the better.
A great set. I absolutely love the voice work on this game. It goes so well with the twisted sense of humour it has. Your minions just sound so enthusiastic when it comes to beating up hunters and clubbing baby seals. Anyone watching this who isn't grinning like a lunatic... well, there's something wrong them.
I'm looking forward to the next set - mostly because I want to see that hippie Elf get what's coming to him.
I hope I'm not hijacking the LP here but I wouldn't mind some general hints and help regarding the tower management and creation of armor and weapons.
Are the crystals that you use for upgrading the minions and to create certain weapons and armors limited? If so, should I focus on armor or weapons? Also, are there certain early game weapons I should go for?

There are exactly enough dark crystals to buy/upgrade everything in the game.

Really? Even enough to upgrade the minions? Guess I won't feel to bad upgrading the browns a level or two then.
I'm not sure how you would do it on a controler, but on the keyboard, you can press backwards and attack at the same time to do a stronger blow behind you, and a+d+attack to spin around and chop people.

When I played Overlord II (I only did one ending), I found it improved on all the game mechanics, but the plot was a bit weaker. But that was just me.
And yeah, the...
EDIT: You're German. You're commanding an Army. And they're called the 'Browns'.
Don't stop.

Also, this game has one of the best solutions to a barrier puzzle ever.
Also, I've already played it, but I would happily sit through the entire thing again with you at the helm. Klyka is the best LPer.

My favourite line of the set.
This is gonna be great, Klyka!
Be certain to oppress the villagers with feeling, now.
Also the spider elevator isn't that bad with a gamepad. I fucked it up twice, yeah, but it still wasn't that frustrating.

Damn plushy rats eating those fishies!
It really makes me wonder if I should just go play this game myself...
I did never beat Overlord 1 though. I stopped when a single sandworm ate my entire team of minions. I was not happy.

I gotta ask though; did you notice one of your minions caught fire towards the end there? Because it was hilarious.
