Aesthetically, I enjoy the black version, but the black version does almost nothing to conserve energy these days. LCD's use the same amount whether they are displaying blacks or whites, and LCD's are the dominant technology today. So there really is no point to that website for 90% (or however many people have adopted LCD's) of web users.
