On a side note, battle rifles (or whatever they're calling them) look awesome. I may be biased, since I have a great fondness for FALs/G3s/M14s, however.

Space is limited though and you must fill out the RSVP for the party on Saturday October 17th to get in! Borderlands will be fully playable at the party.
Also, you must be 18 or over to attend.
Ha, I live in Fort Worth and work just a few minutes from the Granada Theatre. You better believe I'll be there. Sign up is quick and painless if anyone was worried at all. Hopefully we won't be to bombarded with the Beastie Boys DJ too much.
So I'm kinda thinking about buying this. It looks like a lot of fun in co-op, which is exactly my problem with it... If I buy it, but I'm the only one of my group of friends to do so, it's not a lot of fun.
So how do levels scale? If say I play with a group of people, get level 8, can I then you a group of new people, at level 1? Will it really be fun with such varying levels of strength? Does the game require Steam to play, or does the multiplayer also work outside of it? I can see pretty large benefits to using Steam when gathering groups, especially with you guys apparently already having a Steam Group going on.
And then there's the matter of price. It's €45 on Steam, which is an amount I haven't paid in years for a videogame. If I order online, I see prices going to around €30, which is what the 4-pack boils down to on Steam, but that adds more difficulties in actually setting that up.

That's why I'm getting it for 360; splitscreen, fuck yeah!
That way if I have a friend over we can play and no one has to buy any extra stuff, we can just get to it.

I would say watch the first half of the GiantBomb preview video to get an idea of how the level scaling will work. Things *seem* balanced and from what I've read even if you're under leveled you will catch up pretty quick with XP share.
The game's multiplayer does not run through steam, I think it's Gamespy which I honestly don't have any experience with. With steam it would be easy for us to know who's online and in a game but you could still join the group and not have to purchase it through steam.

From what I understand, more players = more monsters, but level wise they are based on whoever is hosting.

Who ever is hosting AND based on where you are in the game/world. The devs say they hate actual "level scaling" and so you can go back to old areas and kick the weaker guys asses. So maybe it would be better to say which quests you are doing or where in the world you are.

I dunno in the giantbomb link the guy who was hosting was 7 or 8 but the monsters were higher level than him and I think he remarked that was part of the group make up? Again don't know until I can play it.

He expressly states during that part of the video that "this area is above my level."
Earlier in the video, he already said that more monsters spawn for group play, but levels don't scale.
So after viewing the rest of the Giantbomb preview, I definitely think I'm gonna pick this up. I'd assume that buying the 4-pack would work with people in Europe and America? So yeah, put me on the list for people interested in doing a 4-pack. PM me if you're interested, and we can work out a good way of doing it. I'm going to bed now, so don't expect a super swift answer.

Nothing momentous. Are all videos going to be a letdown in the wake of GiantBomb?

Getting started with BATTLETECH: Part 1 / Part 2
Yes, because giantbomb just flat out showed us like 20 to 30 mins of gameplay.

Yes.
Also, the GiantBomb video is as much as I want to know right now. I fear I've already seen too much.

You had one before you posted this. You have to restart Steam to see it.
Oh really? Shit, I didn't know that.
Thanks!

DVI/VGA cable from your pc to your TV, best of both.
My PC is so far away from my TV. Also, PS3 comes out a week earlier?
edit: Also, can I get an invite?
I was also debating this but went with pc for the whole community thing.
I want to know more PA people on Twitter.
Yes, yes mystic_knight, week earlier. PS3! I'm getting it. We can play together. And be friends.
