1701 A.D. won't install on my laptop. It worked perfectly fine on my computer, and considering my laptop is only about half a year old, it should be able to run.
It basically goes through the entire process, and then at the end, a little box pops up saying "1701 A.D. has stopped working." It then says its installed, but it won't play (the same box pops up).
Any solutions?

Older games and Vista tend to not go together well, you see.
Anyway I have a different question now, for those of you that have played the game.
I have 920 citizens, and I have met all their needs. I've waited about twenty minutes, but so far not one of them has upgraded to merchant. Anyone know why its taking so long?
