Hey all. Trying to find a way to block sites with firefox. Do you guys have an add-on that's easy to use? I'm not looking for something that will block the internet (thanks procon latte) or something that will only block websites for a few hours.

Just trying to block facebook and myspace. Any suggestions?

I, being the dick that I am, wrote a small program with http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/ that would automatically close the browser window if it detected "MySpace" or "Facebook" in the window title and snuck it onto some friend's computers for April Fools.

This FF add-on looks like it will do what you want, but anyone using the browser could disable it easily enough.

You want Leechblock. Or if you don't want or need any options, just go with BlockSite.

Edit the hosts file to resolve those two addresses to something else. It'll work across the whole system, and if the people aren't computer savvy they will never figure it out.

Yeah. Add the following lines to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

    127.0.0.1 facebook.com
    127.0.0.1 myspace.com
