Latin phrase from D/D thread...

There was this long-ish latin phrase that someone posted in the Scary/Horrifying stories thread in D&D awhile ago (about a year ago?). Some dude went into a tunnel, or sewer pipe or something, and it was written there in the darkness. Does anybody know what I'm talking about, and more importantly, does anyone have this phrase? I can't seem to find it. The guy even tried to translate it w/ his friend, to the best of their abilities. I believe it was to the effect of walking through cities unseen, as a shade, a shell. Pretty haunting stuff.
