The complete guide was overkill for me, but I'm glad it's the on OP now.
I'm so glad I have my incredibly awkward flash drive. That thing is getting a lot of use in making my PS3 cooler these days.
Steam: TheArcadeBear
I found Boba Fett, Jango Fett, and a Clone Trooper on some forum somewhere and I've been using those.

Also, if you don't start as a Hero or Royal, one hit from the first boss in the Grass Temple will pretty much insta-kill you.

If you're a Future Shop customer I made a model of the logo for laughs - you can get it here.
lol.
I have come to revive the thread! Download! http://digitalarcanum.net/stuff/3ddot/3ddot_Balrog.zip
Ugggh, indeed. I freaking hated that boss. He was downright tedious. He spent more time in the air than on the ground, so the entire fight was boring, because I couldn't even attack.
Also, I found myself "overcorrecting" when trying to use the analog stick. Switching primarily to the D-pad made my life a whole lot easier. You get used to spin-slicing with it pretty quick.
This would be wonderful. Most sites I've seen just link pictures of custom ones like Mario, with no download link for the necessary resources. I want to be able to get more cool characters like Houn's rocking Balrog!
Pretty good place.
So... use the D-pad?

Probably should, but circling the sword is easier with the analog. I haven't played this in days, though, kinda just stopped, haven't been in the mood for frustration.
Mostly I just don't wanna navigate those annoying teleporting islands again. Even if I get through it I'm gonna be paranoid that I missed something.
Then again I know for a fact that I've missed more than a few things already.

Thanks so much! New Game+ here I come
Also, are you guys talking about the dragon? I always just walk to the right when he drops and hold up the shield.
Fighting the Water Boss is a bitch because my sword is so weak, but I also don't want to spend the money to upgrade it if I get a new one....
Wish I had read this before sending it back to GF. The game was very charming and interesting at first. But after a while I felt like I should just be playing a Link to the Past.
Which means I went back, played the game a bit, then went to see the midnight showing of The Expendables. Got home at 2am, woke up, packed up the game, and then surfed the web. :P
Anyway, yeah, I probably shouldn't have looked at a FAQ for this game. Upon realizing how much stuff I'd missed and would have to restart to see, I lost all motivation to play, and thus traded it off.
Seems like georama didnt pay the bills.
Any other site out there for character downloads besides the official one?
It also does some other stuff.
This game is very charming, but it is not easy to pick up and play for an hour here and there. I have the impression there is a lot of fun to be had, despite missing out on the Zelda games and not playing a lot of 8/16 bit games. I just need to invest some time in to this game to get that fun.
So because I have nothing to play while waiting for Ar Tonelico I was looking at my wall and went "Oh hey, 3D Dot Game Heroes! I only got to the second dungeon in that. Time to fix that problem!" So now I'm playing this again. Since people have had time to finish this is there any easily missable sidequests that I should make sure to do? Because I know there's missable stuff. Also the patch makes the circuit dashes so much easier. It is WONDERFUL. The first dash circuit is 25 seconds for the block now. It used to be 20 right? Looking back at my old posts in this thread I'm pretty sure you had to get under 20 for the block.
The FROM quest is the one you can screw up the easiest. If you're not already doing it at the second dungeon, you've already missed out completely I believe. You have to check in with this NPC after every dungeon, I believe.
Unless you plan to play through it a second time immediately, I'd just pull up a FAQ to make sure you hit all the quests. Or else you'll miss trophies for quests, and then miss trophies for not having all the weapons, when you get a few from quests, etc. Very frustrating to get to the end and realize if I hadn't missed the FROM quest I'd be in a much better position to unlock half the trophies on one playthrough.
I have no clue how someone figured all of these out, you'd basically have to talk to every NPC in the game after anything changed - including one of the NPCs you talked to saying something new.
