So right now in my computer I have two 500GB HDDs that I have had forever. Even with a whole TB of space, I am down to less than a GB of free space. To remedy this I wanted to get a 1.5TB HDD.
My first one was a Seagate that I picked up from Fry's, but when I used their DiscWizard, it told me that it "Failed to write to the sector -1,364,695,232 of the hard disc 3." So I took it back to get another one, thinking it was the drive that was defective. Then I brought home the replacement and tried again, and it said the exact same thing at the exact same sectors. I figured it was a bad batch, so I took it back and got my money back.
So I ordered a Samsung off of Newegg and it just arrived today. Now when I try using the DiscWizard it tells me the exact same sectors are bad. This tells me that there is something wrong with the way I have it set up or the tools I am using, but I have no idea what the problem could be.
