Budgeting for nerds

Because I suck at budgeting/finance/whatever, I want to set up several savings accounts with weekly transfers from my main account to budget for various upcoming expenses like trips, shoes, clothes, what have you.

The thing is, I think I'd be a lot more awesome at budgeting if I could visualize these things like XP bars showing shit like I have 20% saved for an island vacation or 130% saved for sunglasses.

Is there any sort of program that caters to nerds trying finance.

Else, any suggestions on how I could create a graph using excel using =TODAY() to accomplish something similar based on weekly set contributions?

    This looks perfect! Thank you.

I just have to do a little homework to make sure this software wont be logging my keys or anything.

    Please lock. Solved!

Okay, this is totally legit, but I can't shake the feeling that this was developed by some awesome James Bond Villian who's going to steal everyones shit and build a Volcano Fortress once mint.com moves to Phase 2.

On the otherhand, it's so awesome its worth it.

You know I've been using mint for a while and that never crossed my mind. I always assume if someone is going to steal all my identities it'll be instant, but this....wow. You blew my mind.

Well.. considering they were just recently bought by Intuit (who makes Quicken) you're probably safe to use it.

Unless Quicken has been a front all these years....

Yeah, Mint.com is legit. They even talked about it on TWiT the other day.

While this looks all sorts of badass, it doesn't work with TCFbank :(. Anyone knows if I'm missing something obvious to get my bank account to work with mint.com?

I'm sure it'll all be the same thing soon enough with Intuit buying up mint.

Mint categorizes my MMO subscriptions as a charity donation. :rotate:

Yes, I know you can edit it.

Yeah, I've still got an account on Mint. It's perfectly legit, and works well for most people. However, my girlfriend and I split more or less everything so everything comes up on my credit card as 2x too much or not appearing at all. For a while I would just manually edit but then I realized I put more effort into doing that than just having a nice Excel sheet where I track my expenditures (and can add nice graphs too).
