Im about to break my DM cherry in a few months. I love some of the modules that have been released (not just
the penny-arcade ones but other nice ones in dungeon magazine).
My concern is that I want a continent or landmass for this to take place in. I know the points of light system is
suppose to be very loosly location based so you can plug it into any map you want.
So what map do you yourselves put these in? I dont want to really create my own continent yet. Im leaning toward forgotten realms as I played Baulders Gate years ago and know a little about the area. Do I just remove a city and plug one of these in or should i find/create a space on the map for the cities/encounters? Has anyone made a map like this already?

If you're not caring too much about dwelling upon the Forgotten Realms itself, go right ahead. The Nentir Vale, where many adventures take place, is usually located in the Elfharrow in a modern day map of the Forgotten Realms, but you can put it wherever you'd like.

If you click on the link for the keep on the shadowfell information, it should have a link on how to adapt the module for FR and Eberron. I using the modules as I see fit for a homebrew campaign. I picked a map from a book and just stuck Nentir Vale in it.
Edit: There was an article in Dungeon 155 on how to adapt Keep on the Shadowfell for FR. I don't know what the policy for linking directly to the pdf is. I found it by using wizards in-site search engine and typing keep on the shadowfell in forgotten realms.

Where did you find this info by chance?
Oh, shoot (and thanks to belligerent for pointing that out, else I'd've never realized my mistake), I meant the Elsir Vale, which is used in 4e's Scales of War path apparently. For the record, the original placement came from Rich Baker and a handful of probing questions at the time of the Red Hand of Doom's release (as he was the writer and also brand manager for the Forgotten Realms at the time.)
That said, I'm not too happy with that article's placement, as it builds upon some fundamental misunderstandings of Cormyrean history, but if it works for you, go with it.
