Alright, I took whoever-that-was's advice and went to work today. I'll play hooky tomorrow when I can play DA from the time I wake up, until I go to sleep (15+ hours later).
e: Speaking of reviews, the Giant Bomb video review is up. Giant Bomb gave it a 100, for whatever that's worth
Woohoo! Went in, was the first to get my copy of DA:O at the store, and for some reason they gave me the collector's edition instead of the normal one, which is what I preordered. Not complaining!
Installing noooow. Wooohahaha

When they handed you the collector's edition, you were probably like:
So, the Gametrailers review taught me that one of your dwarven party members can be (or is) gay....nice.
Wait really?
Cool.
now I might buy it.

So how do you acquire items that you've unlocked through the character creator or playing Journeys or whatever? Are you supposed to have a code emailed to you or something?

It's tied to your EA account. You sign in when playing the full game and it should unlock it that way.

Aha.
I thought the unlocks were for all versions of the game, not just PC. Oops!

You do have to have a rewards zone account, but its free to set up and costs nothing.
Thanks for this. I have a Rewards Zone account and was going to buy it at Best Buy today anyway, but this saves me ten bucks.
For some reason I'm not able to access the page. Is this only available in certain areas? I have a reward zone account.
Does it bring up an account sign up page? I logged out and then hit the link and that is were it sent me. Looks like to access the coupon it requires you to be logged in to your rewards zone account.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but I was under the impression they were for all versions, too. You'd just sign in to your EA account while playing the console versions, as well.

In its desperation to infuse this setting with "maturity" - be it of the sober, political kind, or the game's painfully clumsy gore and sex - BioWare has forgotten the key ingredient of any fantasy: the fantastical. Without it, you're still left with a competent, often compelling, impressively detailed and immense RPG, but it's one that casts no spell.
I think this is about what I was expecting.
I'm getting the game, but I'm hoping there's a slider for that blood. It's hard to get into a setting that's supposed to be steeped in political intrigue and drama when the fight scenes look like something out of Kill Bill.
I will also - as with every other game that has ever offered the option - be avoiding the romantic relationship aspects of it, if I can. There's some low-hanging fruit here, about the sort of people who make and play games, but really, the same sort of criticism can be leveled at most Hollywood romantic comedies with professional writers. I think the real issue is that writing believable romance is difficult. Especially when you're dealing with characters who look like gore-covered mannequins.

And we talked about that review a lot already, but the guy wrote in the review Bethesda does things better than BioWare and Dragon Age, particularly when it comes to choice and consequence (ha ha ha ha). I wouldn't exactly take this guy that seriously. :P

Wait, he actually said that?
I love Bethesda, but lets be real here. Bethesda's choice systems tend to be paper thin compared to BioWare's offerings. Take Oblivion, which I loved, but being an evil bastard honestly doesn't change one thing about the game. Fallout 3 is a little better, but really it's very paper thin. Nothing changes because I decided to blow up Megaton...hell, the chick quest giver just becomes a ghoul and goes to the ghoul town, you can still do all her damn quests. There is no consequence there.
I know this has probably been answered before, but I've got a quick question for those who have picked up the game: can you choose not to display helmets? Most of the heavy armor helms I've seen have been better cool, but a couple of the leather pieces look like old football helmets and most of the cloth head items look absolutely ridiculous.
Moira surviving Megaton was one of the best things about Fallout 3.
I agree, it didn't bother me, but lets face it, it completely took away a consequence of being evil and blowing up Megaton (aka not being able to finish her research quest and get the achievement for doing so).

Tenpenny Tower was a pretty good quest. And the whole The Pitt thing.
on the whole I agree however, most of them are either the Jesus option or the raping-your-mother-pouring-sugar-in-your-gas-tank option

He didn't say Bethesda does things better than Bioware. He said:
Meaningful choices are lost in a near-infinite number of meaningless ones, consequences are only vaguely defined before the fact, and the cold machinations of the cast stir admiration for the game's clever, systematic plotting, but seldom emotion. Uninvolved, you make calls with your head and not your heart, and you never feel like you can escape the gravitational pull of the game's design the way you can in, for example, Bethesda's RPGs.
I.e. Bethesda's RPGs allow for more freedom, and Dragon Age is on rails to a large degree.
I don't like Bethesda RPGs. I think they're the most overrated crap every foisted upon a PC. But even I'd be willing to concede - based on what I know of Bioware's other games, which I mostly love - that he has an entirely valid point.
It might not be a very fair one, based on the mechanical, fundamental differences between the two games, but it's not like it takes the entire review out of the realm of seriousness. That's some pretty wild overreaction.

Mind spoilering their score? I'm interested in what their review says, but am at work.
Also wasn't going for the CE, but then that Best Buy deal cropped up.
So mad...yet so excited.
