Man I was preloading the game.. very nearly complete. Then steam stopped responding and now I'm decrypting my ~90% preloaded game.

I hope this doesn't impact me negatively in any way. Fuck me.

Not saying there's something wrong with owning a physical copy, just saying that all media comes with an expiration date.

I realize this... but I have discs that are much older than that that still function. I think that the shelf life is underestimated.

Not legally anymore! Thank you DMCA.

(Actually some EULA's may still allow you a single backup copy, and with older games having no SecurROM it should still work, but I know for newer games with Yummy or SecurROM, it usually won't work without using something like Alchohol 120% to maker a true bit-for-bit copy of the disk).

Well, with Steam being unlocked, either this thread will become spoilerific or a ghost town. Time to duck out until I get my own copy. :P

I'm Canadian, so copyright laws are quite different here. I'm mostly talking about backing up my PSX and PS2 library... ESPECIALLY my PSX library really. I have too many classics that I love returning to.

I'd really like to hear reports about how the games control on PS3 and XBox. I'd like to get it for my PS3 if I could, but if the console controls suck I guess I could get it for PC.

The console controls look almost identical to the Mass Effect controls, right down to a radial menu setup. If you liked the Mass Effect controls, you'll probably be fine with these.

The Eurogamer review made me even more excited for this game. Everything they listed as negatives are the sorts of things that I love in an RPG, like the slow build intro with too much talking.

    I love that shit.

Sadly, my copy doesn't arrive until Friday (damn you, Amazon!) so I'm going to have to force myself to stay away from this thread to avoid spoilers. I even had the forethought to change my work schedule so as to have Friday off.
