    You're not the only one.

I've been hoping they secretly included some "throwback weapons" like the MP44 was in CoD4.

Treyarch may have made mistakes with World at War, and just aren't as good overall a developer than Infinity Ward. But they at least gave us Nazi Zombies. Damn, they could turn that into an entire game, as it's different enough from Left 4 Dead (even if the network code was shoddy - lag in a game between four high-end pc's connected via 100mb ethernet? For shame, Treyarch).

Hmm... looking forward as I am to Modern Warfare 2, I'm curious to know where Treyarch is going next.

World at War may not have been amazing, but it's still an entertaining shooter, which is all the game needs to be.

Oh indeed, I did like the game, and still play the campaign from time to time. My brother leaves his pc out here all the time now, and Nazi Zombies is a big part of the reason for it - he can just drop out and the three of us will either try a new map, try to make sense of Der Riese, further perfect strategies for Shi No Numa, or see if we can beat our record for Nacht Der Untoten (level 23 or 24, I think). Long after Modern Warfare 2 has been released, we will still be blowing the crap out of Nazi zombies in the hell that is Nacht Der Untoten.

I guess different people find different things entertaining.

I for one finished World at War in one evening, finding the game downright atrocious in design, story, characters and gameplay. It was like the quadruplet of failure.

It's like they managed to take every good aspect of Modern Warfare out, and leave just the repetitive crap FPS that the engine facilitates.

Maybe that was just me though.

For the record though, I haven't played the multiplayer, and that seems to be the part that most people like.

Wow, I actually thought the World at War single-player was damn good for what it was. Some great moments like the
    Russian sniper levels & subway
    .

Then again I also think Wolfenstein was pretty good for what it was and I seem to be in the minority for that, I think.

I loved the single-player campaign. I loved the bomber mission for being different and a break in the FPS gameplay. I liked that you played three different characters, showing their experiences and perspective of the war. I like that they foist upon you the choice of whether or not to shoot surrendering German soldiers.

An in-joke amongst my friends and I is about how necessary the Russian character you play - Dimitri - is to the war effort. My brother even uses his name in multiplayer. Four-player coop campaign is a lot of fun, and I really can't see anybody in our group playing Modern Warfare 2's skimpy two player coop mode. So I am interested in what Treyarch will do next, and if they'll continue with Nazi Zombies.

Well, there is some good news for fellow Australians worried about how the controversy involving the opening will pan out.

    Copy/paste from this article. (SPOILERS)
To clarify, Modern Warfare 2 hasn't been refused classification in Australia yet - the review board can't re-review its own submissions; it'd have to be submitted by an external party. For the time being, you'll still be able to buy it when it comes out.

They are fully awesome. They are similar to the eyeclops toy NVGs, but more comfortable and easier on the eyes. You can adjust focus and eye separation. They are fun.

Night vision goggles always remind me of an instance with some friends. One of them received the Eyeclops goggles for his birthday so they decide to see if they can spy on the neighbors from his bedroom window. So you have a 23 year old and a 29 year old ( one of which is damn smart cookie ) trying to spy out a window. It did not work as they said his bedroom room window kept reflecting the light and they couldn't see anything.

When I asked why not just open the window I was greeted with blank stares.

Yeah, glass panes are really good at trapping and reflecting infrared. This is why greenhouses are made of glass.

Dear Frederick, thank you for your nice letter, but I am actually a US Marine who was born to kill, whereas clearly you seam to have mistaken me for some sort of wine sipping, communist dick suck. And although peace probably appeals to tree hugging bi-sexuals like you and your parents, I happen to be a death-dealing, blood-crazed warrior who wakes up every day just hoping for the chance to dismember my enemies and defile their civilizations. Peace sucks a hairy asshole, Freddy. War is the mother-fucking answer.
