The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
I have a band and will be pimping it regularly once we finish our album, we're finally done with recording and will be mixing it over the next few weeks. Also, we are putting it up on the Rock Band Network which I am supremely excited about!
(http://kurodust.net has updates and older recordings if anybody is interested)
I play bass guitar and quite enjoy it, even if school has been keeping me from practicing quite as much as I'd like.
I've been kind of wanting to mess around with making digital music lately, just no idea where to start. Are there any good free digital audio workstations out there or am I pretty much looking at having to shell out a decent amount of cash if I want to do anything. Also if you guys know of any websites that have good tutorials for any programs out there that would be great.
I run Windows as my OS, but I'm willing to create a Linux partition if necessary to run a program.
So after dicking around with it for over two months now in my spare time, I finally managed to debug and get my fuzz face clone working. And man oh man, vintage germanuim transistors sound amazing.

fruity loops is pretty alright though the demo version is pretty gimped up. I've been using Kristal (http://www.kreatives.org/kristal/) for some recording of late. there is some stuff in Ubuntu Studio that's pretty neat, if you do decide to go the linux route but it takes a lot of tweaking as is typical of linux related programs.
I should post another video or two of me playing, since I think the only one I posted was the first time I ever played on stage and was also terrible quality. One of my friends got a new digital camera with HD video capabilities and filmed the following:
I broke out my Bass for the first time in like 2 years today. I got through like 2 years of playing it not knowing how to read sheet music, which I'm trying to do right now.
Feels good to play it again, though.

You're the bestest drummer who ever drummed a drum.

I would do vocals but I can't do 'em and play drums quite yet

LOOK AT THIS SHIT
HOLY CRAP
if that dude actually sounds like fairly often, you may as well just go without him.
No vocals is better than terrible vocals, especially for a demo.

I guess it's pretty cool
is his favorite band.
So you can see what he's trying to go for
I mean, I really like that style of music, but he's just not good enough
It's the screamo of the late 90's early 00's

the dude is all aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa bbbbb eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeb
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Okay, those guys have a pretty decent singer.
The other group you linked, tho... the vocals didn't even seem to have any tonality or rhythm.
It just struck me as violently incoherent gibberish.
I guess it's not my bag.
It's probably more not your bag than anything eles
I would give you feedback but I don't like hardcore/screamo so it would be more about genre bitching than whether it's actually good for what it is.
