[Naruto GNT 4] So now that lik-sang is gone..

Who are you guys using for your imports. I've been wanting to Import Naruto GNT 4 but I can't find it anywhere for less than 64 dollars... comon that's a rip off isn't it?

I've checked NCSX, Play-Asia, and Pinkgozilla.

Any recommendations? I really want this game but I have to buy a new freeloader at the same time and don't want to spend 90+ dollars(aftershipping) to play it.

$64 for GNT4 isn't that bad. I mean, it's been out for a while to still hold on to the that price, but it's not really a ripoff,it's just a popular game.

One of the other Aussie guys put together a post covering all the major sites for imports. I've been using a Canadian website lately, who are fairly good, works about slightly cheaper or even for DS games, but you're getting them way earlier than they get released here.

Unfortunately they're out of stock of Wiis, so I haven't been able to pick one up yet.

You might be talking about my thread: http://www.penny-arcade.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1073839194

I checked out all my favourite sites earlier, and none of them seem to have it in stock at a reasonable price. It looks like $60+ is the norm.

eStarland does have a used copy for $51, but I haven't used them before, so I'm not sure what they are like.

No, he's talking about Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4. It's the Gamecube's Naruto fighter.

eStarland is great. That is where I got my GNT4 from.

GNT4 for $64? YES! I'd pay like $100 for that game. At the end you actually pay more if you don't have a Freeloader

$64 for Naruto 4 is about what you can expect. Heck, I was in Asia when I bought my copy at the local mall and that's about how much I spent.

Simple rule of thumb when importing - unless it's an X-Box 360 game or Saturn game, you can expect to spend more money per game than you would on a US game.

umm $64 has been the going price for a while. I got my copy at launch of that price. It's an awesome game that is worth every penny of that too. As others had said that is about the retail price of it. When I was in japan I paid about $55 US for Battle Stadium D.O.N. and Melty Blood for PS2. So really $64 is not unreasonable at all.

Well guess I've got to drop like 90 bucks for this. I've really been wanting it after picking up the first U.S. game for 15 bucks at target. My friend and I have been playing the shit out of it but 7 charicters just isn't enough.

Do you guys feel like they balanced the charicters a bit more? Rock Lee, Naruto, and Zabuza seem super over powered in the first game.

I've never really felt like anybody but the boss characters were unbalanced in 4, though I've seen pretty bad whippings by people who know how to use Lee (major juggles), and heard about cheapness from people who play Zabuza and that one Sound 4 guy (the one with the Siamese twin stuff going on).

I pretty much play Sasuke, and though I have a hard time against the one good Lee player I know, I've never felt like I wasn't competitive.

I've been importing for a while but don't remeber every paying 64 dollars for a game.

    I've got japanese versions of;

    Soul Calibar 2
    Donkey Konga 1+2
    Nintendo Puzzle Collection
    bleach DS
    and Oendan

Might have payed 65 for Soul Calibur but that was when it was brand new.

This is the first fighting game series in a long time where each game gets substantially better. The first one is a lot like the original SF II in scope, a few characters, few arenas, short story mode. The second one nearly triples the number of availible characters, and has some really interesting bits about it. It's the only game where Sakura is really good, and Shikamaru is pretty much the cheapest thing ever. It's also getting pretty cheap these days, I saw it for $25 new the other day. Three I have played the least, but it adds a ton of fan favorite characters. It's really cheap to import, and it will probably be out in the US by this spring unless the anime takes a break. Four is pretty much worth the $65 to import, it totally trumps the other three and I really like its tag mode.

Lee isn't shit in GNT4. The best characters in 4 are

    Naruto
    One Tail Naruto
    Kisame
    Itachi
The girl with the big fan (she's just a cheater actually)
    Dude with two heads
    Orochimaru

I've never had any problems against normal Naruto players. What do people do with him that's so tough? I'm curious.

Kyubi Naruto, Itachi, Second Seal Sasuke and Kisame to a lesser extent I place in the category of boss characters, and aren't played in serious matches (well, as serious as any match gets, I guess). Temari is sorta annoying, but not any more so than Gara. Orochimaru is tough, but not that tough. There's something weird about the two-headed guys' damage absorption (they don't get knocked back like normal characters, I think... I seem to recall doing Gara's second special on them once only to see them barely flinch when it connected) that's supposed to make them cheap, but nobody I know plays them hardly ever.

Sakon has what I call "Ultimate Shield" if you press back and A it turns on. This makes it so he can't get knocked back, but you can still knock him up. A really strong hit will knock him back, but that's usually like the 3rd or 4th hit of a combo. This shield also fucks with his ability to teleport out of combos immediately if I remember right.

Naruto is the fucking combo master in GNT4. He seems like a regular character, but when you understand how to use him (he's really different from the other characters) he can be damn nasty.

Temari is a cheater. As in, he air move where she floats on the fan... yea, you can combo that move into itself like 9+ times. You have to basically jump an inch off the ground and once it starts... ha ha, hope you got some chakra because it ain't stopping til you can teleport out of it.

Orochimaru's ability to take off all your chakra with his special is one of the reasons he is good. He also has crazy combos you can create with cancels. ALSO, if you get specialed by him and die before the last hit... you still lose all your chakra. So the next round it's zero zero

It'll probably be a long time until the Wii version comes out, though. That one's kinda far along in the story...

I heard that the US version of Uzumaki Chronicles (PS2 adventure game) had characters and boss battles redone because they didn't quite appear in the US show yet.

or really really bad. I don't like the game really. It could have been so good, but i'm amazed at how clunky it feels for a game that's the third part of the series.

Also, the moves feel like they have no power. Must I do Naruto's big ball thingy 5 times before some dies?

It does have the best character line up though.

Yeah, I remember getting tagged with that special in a small tourney. It sucked.

Temari's cheap, but I've never played anybody who did that (I've never played a "serious" Temari player, either, though).

Man do I ever love using Rock Lee or Guy. Sure, they have very dangerous combos, but when you click man, do you ever click. Unfortunately, my longtime opponent in this game is a master at both reading me and throwing objects, so I don't often win with them, but it is great to 100 to 0 someone while kicking them from behind when they teleport.

My older import JAP games would format my U.S. memory card if I tried to save but I've heard this game can save on a US card without formating it. Is this true?
