Colour Inversion on my TV

Hey guys so I have this weird problem with my TV when I hook it up to my laptop via HDMI.

Everything is ok for a while, but then eventually the colours on the TV invert and it's like looking at the negatives of a picture. It sorts itself out when I turn off the tv and turn it on again, but only for a little bit before it happens again.

I don't know what the issue is, and no amount of googling has really helped I'm afraid. It's started doing my head in :P

Any help is appreciated!

Crap, does no-one have any suggestions?

I know it's a pretty specific problem but I'm sure there must be some sort of solution.

Perhaps try a new HDMI cable? It's either that or the laptop. Does this happen ONLY through HDMI?

Yeah it does, but I don't think it's the HDMI cable either since it works fine with my Xbox 360 and TV.
It'll be my laptop I suppose, maybe it's Vista being silly? Or perhaps a graphics issue?

Are you watching movies from your laptop to the TV for extended periods of time? If so, try watching them on just your laptop and see if it's that. It could be the HDMI port on your laptop that is going crazy, which is hard to diagnose.

Yeah it happens after extended periods of time.

I've thought it might be the HDMI port, which is just odd because on my parents TV back home it worked perfectly but now with my own TV it doesn't. But I suppose it might be something that just happened randomly to my port.

I suppose I should try and check it with some other TVs really.
