I don't understand why gays exist
Posts
Man, that don't make it less stupid.
You want to say I'm bitching about something that's pretty beyond me to change? Yes. That is exactly what I'm doing.
But don't act like I'm some kind of bigot or self-hating Uncle Tom Queer just because I dislike certain elements of the way a lot of homosexual men behave themselves.
I only referred to you as a selfish coward.
Which is still absurd. Yes, I'm a selfish coward because I've had to deal with an unfortunate self-absorbed culture of pretentious fags in order to find people who aren't bags of shit and I wish that it wasn't so.
Man, what.
Not always true!
(but is often the case)
And I have to deal with a conservative Christian culture and people who can't even handle that I wear black, have long hair, and have a down-turned mouth.
Do you know how fricking often people get on my case about the -shape of my mouth-?
Almost fricking -weekly-.
And everyone, my coworkers, my -car dealer-, everyone, just has to refer to me as "The Man in Black."
And I have to keep my mouth shut about my ethics because the only good work around here is highly conservative -- I only got my job because my grades are awesome and my dad works at the same place and is the lord god of his profession.
Just get over it already.
That really doesn't have anything to do with what he's saying.
But okay.
PEOPLE AREN'T ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THINGS ON THE INTERNET BECAUSE OTHER PEOPLE HAVE IT WORSE
NEWS AT 11
C'mon, Incen, that's just silly.
You're allowed.
It makes you look (more) like an idiot.
But you're allowed.
Man, Incen, I don't really get the animus.
From Celery? I get. He's got this idea that I'm some kind of self-hating monstrosity, based on the fact that he won't read the whole of what I'm saying in favour of just reading the parts that piss him off.
But you? I dunno. You seem to be pretty swift on getting on my shit in a pretty ridiculous fashion over nothing.
OR -- if you're answer is because "well it makes me feel uncomfortable" then yes, we're saying tough. That's what happens, and it's what you deserve for not being able to respect and support another human being who just wants to act how they want to act without harming anyone else. This desire that people not act how they are because it is unlike how you would act? That's bigotry, champ.
Everyone is bisexual, just in varying degrees.
Hypocrites piss me off, especially when they try to go stealth mode.
You should see me defend furries to Trekkies.
Matt made a "Malcom X to Martin Luther King" comparison that I think sums up a lot of my beef with the situation well.
I normally hate comparing sexual orientation politics with racial ones, as they are very much not the same thing, but the analogy in this case I think works.
I find it a great deal ironic that for being the guy who wants to be calm, measured, and "buttoned-down" about the gay rights movement, for being the guy who is actually quite moderate on the issue, I'm the one labelled as being bigoted and hateful.
I don't like this "all or none" attitude people in the so-called "Gay Agenda" seem to perpetuate. That you can't ever make any sort of concession or conformity, that's a sign of weakness or failure.
It's absurd.
Sequined thong guy? He doesn't care who you are or what you do, that's his point. He expects you not to care how he chooses to express himself, much like he doesn't care how you choose to express yourself, as long as you express yourself in a way that is true and honest to you.
ON TOP OF THAT -- the Malcom v. Martin comparison is STUPID, because Civil Rights would have FAILED without Malcolm, Huey, Assata and 'em. Their lives CONTINUE to instruct, inspire, and guide MANY people making POSITIVE change in the world. Apparently for you, it might be much nicer if no one rocked the boat and we just had Martin asking all nice that we let him sit at the table, but for some people THAT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH, because they're SICK of being stuck down in the FUCKING SLAVE QUARTERS and are going to DEMAND change, instead of exhausting their ENTIRE LIVES waiting for someone to let them be who they want to be.
psssssst -- what you just did there Matt? That's blaming the victim, which is dumb
I'm more distressed at his anger towards pussy-love.
That ain't natural.
That would be fine, except in practice what it comes to be is that the extremists come to define the whole of any political action from anyone who acts on behalf of the quality they claim to represent.
To the point that it's difficult for people to actually make those moderate and central moves because they are automatically battling an uphill that is beind added to by such extremists. They aren't helping. They're hindering.
How many places in the US don't just not have gay marriage, but outright have laws against it now? I don't blame the Gay Pride people for that entirely. I'm simply saying that they aren't helping.
And you're right, it's not the state's business how someone expresses themself. What you do in your own home is your own business. But what you do in the middle of the street is everyone's business. And when that's making life hard for members of your own group, then fuck you, they're not the bigot, they're not self hating, you are.
Man, the only thing I ever got from a gay pride parade was a broken inflatable donger. I feel ripped off now. If I'd got sequined thongs out the deal maybe I would've enjoyed it more.
Many places full of proud gay people were the first to pass Gay marriage laws (correlation? hmmmm...), but then the bigots rallied together and passed questionably legal laws in order to "preserve" their bigotry.
And you think it's the gay people's fault. Cute.
edit: and your point about extremism is stupid and wrong.
Actually, that isn't what I'm saying. In fact, that's the opposite of what I'm saying.
But okay. You can keep saying "blame the victim" as a way of dodging personal responsibility and create things I'm not saying in order to argue with them. Seems to be your thing, and god forbid I ask you to conform to standards of logical discourse and reading comprehension.
