[Wii] SD Cards

So I just bought an SD card from a friend for cheap, and I was wondering what the hell I should do with it. I just figured I'd get one out of convenience since it was available. But, now I don't know anything fun to do with it. Sure I guess I could look at photos and doodle on them, but is there anything else?
The only thing I can think of is using my Wii to watch videos. Wii Video 9 is some nifty looking video conversion.
I'm not sure how an SD card would let you watch videos on the Wii, as you'd need to get to it from the opera browser, which isn't currently possible I think, although you can just use Wii Media Player X to stream the content.
What you could do is put music on the card to play during Excite Truck or photo-channel slideshows.

Agh, now I'm not sure how it would work either. I have no idea, I actually just now started looking through the site and am unsure of how to use it. Too bad I'm at work and can't fiddle around...

You can watch specially encoded videos via the Photo Channel.

That is exactly what I want to do, but I am beginning to get worried that I am going to run out of things to do in Excite Truck soon. I only have two more races in Mirror mode to get an S rank on and then work on the Challenge stuff (which doesn't seem too difficult, maybe the jumping through rings one though).
I wish I had an SD card and SD reader a few weeks ago for when I first got Excite Truck though...that would have been awesome.

Yeah, I got my SD card when I was just finishing off regular Excite, so the music got a lot of awesome use. Unless you plan to replay a lol of Excite Truck, it wouldn't be worth it to buy an SD card specifically for it just yet.
That said, my SD card has gotten a bit of use just transporting my Excite Truck and my sister's Rayman saves to other Wiis for multiplayer.
I bought a 2gig SD card for the Wii , put it in during launch.... and that's it. I havn't even tested it or verified it works. Can I just pop in MP3s? Then what?
Warning to all: Only 2 GB and smaller SD cards work on the Wii. Do not buy a card larger than 2 GB. i.e. 4 GB. You will be able to read stuff from the card, but the Wii won't be able to write to it.

Ugh stupid me, I forgot I have no way of reading/writing to SD cards on my computer. Is there anyway I can trasfer music/files via wifi from my PC to the Wii?

Come to think of it, I'm not entirely sure how I'll be transferring files either. Maybe I'll have to invest in an SD card reader...or bum my roommate's laptop.

No, this is not possible. It may be possible with the Wii Browser to save them to the SD card in the future, but it's not possible now.
I just took a bunch of photos and messed with them on the wii, you know, coloring, etc. and then made them into puzzles and had fun solving them for a good two hours. *shrug* Worked for me.
I've yet to see any real use for an SD card for the Wii. I suppose if I needed to move saves from one place to another. Other than that, I suppose someday I may manage to fill my system memory and need a little breathing room.
But no time soon.
I stuck an old 128MB SD card that I used to use with my camera and MP3 player in it. It works. Yipee.
I just find it amusing that nearly every bundle the Wii was being sold in included an SD card, as if there was any chance whatsoever you'd need or use it. Especially a 1GB or 2GB one.
Goddamn, people, the photos. The Wii is perfect for a slideshow of photos when family comes to visit. Also, music in Excite Truck is worth the price of admission. I use both constantly.

I don't know about you, but I've already used one quarter of my Wii's system memory between the web browser and six VC games. The Wii only allows the user access to 256 MB of space, and I've filled up at least one 64 MB SD card already by copying the stuff that I could.
It's not as bottomless as you think.
The web browser alone is 32 MB, or 1/8 of your entire memory area.

Get Excite Truck, slap some mp3s on it and enjoy.
$300 camera vs $10 card reader. Gee, what will I choose?

Or Nikon.
I've got one and it's great because it doubles as a 1gb jump drive as well.
Or Kodak.
