Science and nature decided to have a fight last night, and science came out battered but on top. Unfortunately I did not have time to determine how many points the greyish-brownish blur had on its rack but the hole in my hood leads me to believe it was in fact a buck.

Anyone else done any highway hunting this year? As you can see on the car next to mine, it seems to be a fairly common hobby.

    I had surprisingly few narrow misses on the trip to and from LA from Minneapolis. Then I think I ran over a squirrel a week later when I was driving around near home. Oops.

    Radiator wasn't punched, I was able to drive back. Airbags didn't even pop so I didn't even lose control of the thing, just "DEER!" THUNK.... "Ok.... well, we're still rolling...".

    It's a LOT of bodywork damage but it's ONLY bodywork damage. Comprehensive will cover all of it.


    This was on the interstate... so... pretty cool that it came out as good as it did.

    In Michigan, if you hit a deer, you call the State Police who came and shoot the deer if it's not dead.

    Then if the body is in good condition, you can take it home and have delicious venison.
