Haven't been around in a while, but you guys were always insanely helpful so what the hell.
I built a computer for my dad this Christmas as a dedicated flight simulator box. He has 3 CH Products joysticks hooked directly to 3 of the 4 USB ports on the computer's motherboard. Every time Windows starts, it forgets at least one of the joysticks, sometimes two, finds them, and needs to reinstall the drivers and usually HID game controller drivers as well.
This is damn inconvenient, and I've similar with a scanner before but that would be forgotten on disconnect. These sticks are staying plugged in; it's why I made this computer for him (because we both thought leaving them in would fix this when it was occurring on his desktop, where he couldn't.)
Anybody have any ideas?
TL;DR: Windows keeps losing and reinstalling my joysticks. Please make it stop.
