weird computer desktop issue

So just recently every once in a while (an hour or so?) my computer will send me to the desktop. When I'm playing Dragon Age I find it annoying as it doesn't pause the game and just causes it to minimize to the desktop. Any idea why this would be happening? I'm not sure if it is simply a Dragon Age only issue as I have been playing it a lot, it may be something else causing it and would happen regardless of program. I went to processing in the task manager and I can't find anything that would cause this. The programs under "user" seem all normal to me. Any ideas?
