I've been tasked with finding a laptop for my sister which needs to be capable of video conferencing. My problem is that I haven't used a computer with integrated graphics since pre-1998 and I have no idea what tasks they're capable of. I assume integrated video these days would be sufficient for video conferencing, but I figured I'd check here before I tell them that it'll be fine.
Aye, integrated video should be just fine. The bottleneck will almost always be the internet connection itself with 2D video playback. I'd say don't get her a netbook for the purpose (as they might be underpowered for the task), but even the cheapest intel duo-based laptop (probably in the range of 300-400$ and going up for nicer) should theoretically be able to do this.
