Hey,

Basically looking for a site that has classyish leather (or just generally nice) journals/diaries.

I'm looking to buy one as a gift for a friend who's into that sorta thang. Any suggestions? I live in Sydney, Australia for shipping purposes.

I've had a look at etsy, but there's just so much to go through and I figured there might be a store that actually specialises in this type of thing.

I guess you're bound to end up cominc across the moleskine brand, available everywhere.
It's not the unique experience some claim it to be, but the binding's descent and the finishing is not too bad... Paper's quite allright too...

Moleskines are popular mostly in their smaller form, which is pocket sized for all those times when you're struck by the Muse (album on your ipod) while drinking PBR down at the local dive, you dashing rogue you.

If you want something more notebook sized for keeping by the bed and writing longer entries, you've got your wide pick. I'd probably look to just see what's for sale right now. There are lots of handmade things, too.

They do make larger, full-diary sized moleskines. You might want to try somewhere like Etsy if you want a fancy handmade one.

Moleskines tend to be overpriced for what you get. I have one of these and like it a lot (though I don't write in it often enough)
