I have $180 and want to upgrade from my weak E7200 Intel CPU. Will I see enough of a increase bump with either of the below CPUs?

We have a sticky all about computer builds over in the Tech Tavern. You might want to check it out.
For most games there is no point to a quad core since they only use 1 or 2 cores. Then again most games are limited by the GPU instead of by the CPU speed. Your CPU seems like it would be fast enough for most games.
Another possibility would be to overclock your current CPU. Maybe an aftermarket cooler would do nicely. You should be able to find one for well under $50.

I won't lie; I totally thought this was the new Mass Effect thread.
Anyway if all things are equal (i.e. price and performance) go with Quad. Nothing really supports it atm but if it makes no difference to your wallet might as well be prepared when software does begin to use it.

But yeah, Moes is a far better place to ask.
I agree, getting a quad isn't about the short term awesomeness, but long term performance.

Have you tried overclocking your E7200? I have a 7500 running at 3.5GHz using stock cooling.

If you can't live for the now, at least live for the future.
