Passworded files on a USB HDD reader (Solved Lock)

I've got an old HDD that I can't currently hook up to my system. A friend loaned me one of those USB things that reads the drive for you. This file is formatted with Windows, and I kept a password on my user account. I know the password to the account, but just trying to access the files through the drive tells me that the files are protected. Is there any way to either:

A. Use windows to enter the password and get access to the files

or

B. Boot from the drive through the USB? (I think this would be a challenge, because I'd need to load the drivers for the USB drive to boot from it.)

Edit: Figured out how to transfer ownership in windows.

What is this I don't even.
