    Holy shit

This week's Bombcast may have been my absolute favorite

I loved Ryan's ranting about how shitty Sonic 4 is likely to be and hearing him chastise all those actually looking forward to it

It did end on a sad note though, because they mentioned that Dave was only sitting in for Brad. They didn't mention it at the top of the show and so I just assumed that Dave had taken over Brad's chair. I like Brad a lot, but man, he really doesn't talk that much with the others and he never really seems into it. Dave just seems like a better fit overall, and seems like he would make it a bit more balanced since he obviously favors PC over console.

Does anyone know if that G4 podcast with Adam Sessler is any good

Because man I respect Adam Sessler and would enjoy hearing him discuss video games but, you know, G4

I like G4. I watch AOTS and XPlay when I work out. Adam does seem a bit above that show, intellectually. But I guess that goes without saying. I mean he's the only one that isn't a model or wasn't a minor celebrity before joining.

Oh and I totally forgot the name of the podcast. I do have Sessler's soapbox, or something.

Feedback is actually VERY good. It's gotten much more polished once they promoted Sessler and let him run the show over Billy Berghammer. It really used to sound stilted and amateurish, and now....less so.

edit: Actually, regarding Giant Bomb, did Brad quit or something? I haven't seen him around in a while on the site in regards to Quick Looks or other videos

They said he took a break for personal reasons. I assume he'll be back soon, unless something horrible happened.

Brad is fine, he's just a little shy. You should have seen him at the PAX panel last year, hardly said 2 words.

This week's bombcast was indeed amazing. It's a shame that whirlworld.com is already taken by a German hot tub company :(

I really like his separate video 'cast, Sessler's Soapbox. It's only maybe 3-5 minutes an episode, but he's really a smart motherfucker when he's unchained from G4's oppresive yoke.

And I hate to pile on the love, but I totally love the Giant Bombcast. Still need to listen to this week's, but I'm excited to hear it's good. Schoolwork has been piling up, so I don't get to nerd out about games as much as I used to. Now podcasts become my vicarious thrill in lieu of actually buying and playing new games. :(

Yeah, the PAX panel (Tour Legit Tour Quit) is on the website and Brad basically mentions how nervous he is and then nothing for the rest of the panel.

I remember Brad mentioning that he was coming down with something after the new year, so hopefully we get some of those sweet Southern dulcet tones again soon.

edit: Also, everyone stop ruminating and watch Feedback already. Video is better than audio.

So it seems like there's some sort of Idle Thumb on the way. A song popped up on the iTunes feed, and about 30 minutes ago the idlenews twitter just said "It's coming!". I am unreasonably excited by this development.

So did anyone check out the first episode of Co-op Live? I just find Ryan to be embarassing these days. I'm all for being excited about games but getting so excited you sound like you've orgasmed? That's really not something I want to see out of professional game "journalists".

Anyway, downloading new Idle Thumbs now. Woo! I wonder if they'll use this opportunity to rip Dante's Inferno apart.

Does anyone else listen to the 4 Guys 1Up podcast? It seems okay after Garnett Lee left, but they've got this one guy on... I think his name might be Scooter or something, but man. His voice is fucking terrible. It's like he's got marbles in his mouth or something. I just can't stand that guy when he talks. Everyone else is pretty good though.

I don't have anything against him but Brad is pretty boring. Dave is awesome. Long live Dave.

And speaking of okay-but-bland hosts it's pretty great that I'm downloading the new Idle Thumbs right now. Not a fan of Steve but if it's got Jake it has to be good. (I hope.) edit, just heard Jake say "video games" and it feels like the fiiiirst time.

It’s noticeable enough that it earned him a nickname.

I wish I liked 4 guys 1up more than I do. I never really liked Garnett as a host, and they started off really well by getting guys like Tim Schafer and Jeff Green, but since then it's felt just like Listen Up.

I can't wait to listen to Idle Thumbs again. It'll be a nice distraction while I clean the house, at least.

I haven't paid any attention to 1up in a while now, since the few people over there that I had any deep respect for have long since gone. I don't remember what it is that Ryan O'Donnel's doing now, and I can't bring myself to do the EA podcast thing, even for Jeff Green.

Although it occurs to me that I should probably check out the Irrational podcast now that Shawn Elliot's manning it.

Thanks to GDC none of the Friday podcasts I listen to have updated. No Joystiq, no 1up. I don't quite understand why they even need to be OMG ON THE SCENE LIVE, it's not like there isn't plenty of coverage.

I can't even parse that last sentence. But no, as much as I like GiantBomb and Mega64, they have no place in GDC. It's a developers conference, the one place where devs are supposed to be able to speak in peace without fear of PR backlash or having to waste their time selling their latest product, that's what E3 is for.
