My digital camera makes movies in .mov format. I want these videos online and have been meeting nothing but hassle. I'd like a small, free, barebones piece of software that will allow me to convert this .mov into another format. Preferably I'd like to choose any format, but I'm guessing this may not be as easy as it seems. I run XP.
Does such a piece of software exist? I have a feeling there's lots of proprietary software, and lots of clunky garbage out there for me to find.
It sounds like you might want SUPER. It can basically convert from anything to anything, I've used it to strip audio off of .wmv's before for example, and unless things have changed a whole lot it's pretty simple too, if a little counterintuitive.

This. Though the user interface is definitely confusing, it's well worth learning. One tip: the main preferences menu for the program is available by right clicking anywhere on the window.
Also, the download page is hard to find, just keep scroll to the bottom of the page and keep clicking download till you find it.
