The Guiding Principles and New Rules document is now in effect.
Hey guys!
I am pretty new to these forums. How does it work with Let's Plays? Is there an agreemet on the forums, who records or which game or is it more like free for all?
Welcome to the forums. Here's the rules thread. As for LP's, anyone can make one. The only convention is to wait a few months after a game is released. And to try to make them good.

Howdy new fella. You don't have to ask to make an LP around here. All that could be asked of you is a quality experience and refrain from LP'ing a game that is fresh on the shelves.
In my sig is a link to a thread I started indexing all the LP threads people start here, and I have some general info / guidelines people agree on (not just here, other places on the web) about the nature of an LP and how to make it good, etc.
So, hopefully whatever you have in mind is entertaining (either that you're good at it or a funny person)!
And remember, take constructive criticism like a champ if it comes to it.
There's some really good ones - Jurassic Park:Trespasser by ResearchIndicates springs to mind - wherein someone clearly has immense knowledge of the game and design proces behind it, almost to the point of dev commentary. If done well, I enjoy these kinds of LP's much more.

Well, I didn't say it in my post above but in the Index it's noted that being good at the game, knowledgeable of it, or funny all make for good LPs.

I think you're supposed to ask a mod if it's ok before doing a LP, just as a formality.
Actually, there's no rule that you're supposed to do that.
ok then

Edit - This is the link I'm specifically mentioning above.
