Aside from helping me find my TV remote, which has vanished into the abyss of my tiny apartment room, this is the thread to talk about lost things!

What have you lost lately SE++? Did you find it? Or do you blame the gnomes that hide within our floors?

Seriously, this remote thing is infuriating me.

    My wife lost her cell phone, and because she alway has it on silent we couldn't call it. After 3 days of turning the house upside down to find it we gave up and decided we'd get a replacement the next day. That night, it was found under a magazine in the bathroom. Now she always has the ring volume on, and whenever she can't find something I tell her to look in the bathroom and laugh.

    I probably lost all the data on my hard drive because of a mechanical defect. It was only three years old. I have backups of the most important files, but the amount of stuff I lost is impressive.

    Gon' buy an external hard drive so I can backup everything.

    You know what the worst is when you can't find something?

    When there's something that looks almost like it. And you keep looking at that and thinking "Oh there it is" and then GODDAMMIT, so you keep looking, right? And then a few minutes later you're looking in the exact same spot and "Oh there it is" and then GODDAMMIT NOT AGAIN

    i think a girl at work took my hat by mistake but left hers behind which is great because my hat is fucking filthy from making burgers and handling greasy shit all the time and then adjusting me hat and shes pretty new so hers is nice and clean and also i dont know her so i dont care about correcting this and will just keep it

    also i spent my whole shift feeling like it was itchy probably from years of grease and sweat
    just hope she doesnt have lice

    im not sure if ive ever had a hdd die but it would suck so bad
    although recently i had some windows trouble. suddenly just completely froze, wouldnt boot, repair disk wouldnt detect any drives until i used a vista or xp disc to reinstall windows and then was able to format and install win7 over it, but then it happened again like 3 days later
    i thought maybe it could be because of my hdd so i put windows on a different drive which fixed that up but then id get some clicking sound every now and then, like when it was tryin to do some indexing or some shit
    would hear it for a few seconds before it started spinning and was okay after that

    plus it seemed a bit slower so i put win7 back on the first drive and its okay now but im feeling kinda worried about drives failing
    so im thinking
    get like 1.5tb or so to back shit up and not have to look through 4 different drives for stuff
    maybe get another small fast hdd just for windows

    I thought I had really bad razor burn because I switched razor heads about three weeks ago, maybe four! And then it turned out it was hives! Fuckin' yes! Everybody loves getting hives all over their body!

    The worst part is I'm not really allergic to much - cats, MRI contrast solution, mild hayfever - but I have super-sensitive skin, so it was like a two week period where I was terrified to wear my clothes, wash my hands, wash my hair... basically do anything at all except periodically take cold showers.

    So what I'm saying is probably you have hives because you are allergic to clean hats.
