I was just reading about chat system for Bad Company 2 on Xbox 360. I knew the game doesn't support full in-game team chat, but they're not restricting party chat. You can also invite other squads into your lobby, so we can easily get a full 12+ person game going and communicate with each other. I am very relieved!

I popped in bad company 1 on my 360 today, and just did absolutely terrible. I was in the bottom 3 90% of the time. I am most definitely getting this for PC.

I'll be getting it on the 360. Played BF:1942, BF:Vietnam and BF:1943. I like the streamlined kits. Support carries what sounds like a light machine gun AND medic supplies? Yes please.
Wow, my roommate would occasionally spout out "dude, battlefield" and briefly mention a new game coming, but say NOTHING about it.
Wow, just wow. Please DICE, restore my faith in the BF series. I haven't played a BF since Vietnam (demo'd BF2042, but meh).
If you didn't like BF2 / 2142, I have serious doubts that you'll enjoy BF:BC2. BF:BC2 is like a higher-fidelity BF2 with world destructibility.
Depends if it's in terms of single-player or not. As in, BC2 has one, and the last one I played in the main series (1942) didn't have one. I don't particularly care about online multiplayer and playing the campaign with bots is torturous at best.
I enjoy Bad Company probably 1000% more than I did 1942.

If anyone is still holding out for a 360 beta, it's not going to happen. 'Legalities and logistics' got in the way, though the PC beta is still coming. That link also has some badass multiplayer footage.
I think we've also seen some 360 videos in a few of the gameplays out there.
Wasn't there a video that had an X appear as the reload button? That's not the button typically for reload on a PS3 game...which made me think it was 360 footage.

I also remember seeing the red B button in the videos. But that may have just been PC footage while using the controllers

Ah, I wasn't aware the 360 controller when wired to a computer allowed the game to do that.

So, it could be either, I guess.
If they're built for it, yeah. Pretty nice to plug a 360 controller to my computer and play Prototype with it.

I use 360 controller on my PC for action adventures, but every time I hear someone asking how to use it for FPS I scratch my head in confusion. Just doesn't seem natural
As long BC2 doesn't have horrible hit detection like in BF2, I'm all for it.
I couldn't stand seeing someone first on BF2, unloading a full clip right on their chest and see that nothing happened to them, and they'd start fucking dolphin diving towards me and finish me off with 2 or 3 bullets.

The weird hit detection and the knifing are two things they promised to streamline in BC2.

The only thing I didn't like in relation to shooting people in BC1 was that it literally took your entire magazine to actually drop one guy. I'm glad that's fixed in BC2. According to those videos, if I shoot someone, they'll actually die! Yay!

I think we were playing different games. Taking down 2-3 guys with 1 clip wasn't hard.
edit - my fiancee even managed it, and she doesn't play shooters.

This would be more accurate if you were referring to the BC beta. The one with the stupid-awesome GLs.

It's amazing how terrible they were in the release. 0% chance of a kill, short of environmental damage on top of it. It was a death sentence to have it out except for when you needed to destroy walls.
Now, I hate overly good noob tubes (PK rockets? WTF?), but damn, it was a little silly in the reverse direction.
Everything I've seen so far has me really pumped for this game. I liked the first BC a lot, though it wasn't without it's flaws.
Any word on how unlocks work this time around? I loved being able to customize my load out in BF2142 but I was disappointed with the unlocks in BC1. Having to spend an unlock just to get one of your class specific items was pretty stupid when most had like 2 in total.

It seems the more you use a particular class, the more it levels up and earns you unlocks. So each class kind of has its own EXP bar. There doesn't appear to be unlock points anymore, either. It looks like a linear progression for each class.

I fucking wish. I'd give my left nut for a PS3 and Uncharted 2.
And if you saw my PC rig you'd want to play on it too.
EDIT: Being jailed sucks, goddamn post limit... I WILL NEVER BEHAVE POORLY AGAIN.
I'm all alone now.
But how will they stop people from griefing? Everyone knows that party chat is only used to grief!

The 360 in general does anti-aliasing better though, yes?
Depends on the game. Apparently Saboteur on PS3 does anti aliasing better than a high end PC because they dedicated an entire cell to it.

The PS3 does antialiasing?! Most games appear not to use it.

edit - the 'most' in your statement is baffling. If you have seen some do it, it obviously does it.

The beta thing sealed the deal for getting it online.

Though I haven't played BC1 in about a year.

Preorder on PS3, switch to 360 after? It'd take 5 minutes of their time, but whatever.
And there's going to be info on the SP campaign in this weeks GTTV

If you've seen Kelly's Heroes, you've pretty much got the same general thing.

Yeah, the story was nothing special. It was more about listening to Haggard and Sweetwater bitch at each other.
