Still...it's interesting...when you stump it, it asks you for the characters name. I assume it then ferrets out a picture and information. Maybe it's automatic, maybe it's case-by-case. Anyway, it is accretive that way. Nice.

It asked me the lamest questions. He's a magical guy that doesn't have white hair and has never been to space. How the fuck does that narrow it down?
I assume that when it gets a new character it throws it into a table with all the other characters and a "yes" or "no" for each question. Saying either divides the possibilities by half. Then it goes again. Until it gets down and down and down.
The brewery was located among the poor houses and tenements of the St Giles Rookery, where whole families lived in basement rooms that quickly filled with beer. Eight people drowned in the flood, and one person died from alcohol poisoning the next day.
Inspired by Jordan Capri I went for Belladonna, its fourth question was "Is she a porn actress?" which I thought was funny. It was like, "Is he real?... Is he a musician? Is your character a woman? Well then is she a porn actress?"
Then it asked if she is in a low key band, if she plays a team sports, and now...
"Does your character work hard?"
And it guessed right.

It couldn't get John Shade from Nabokov's Pale Fire.
I suspect that outside of popular culture it gets spotty.
It can probably name every last japanimation character though.
Wow, It got some really obscure stuff usually within 50.
It's definitely done by a super nerd so it's hard to stump on nerd stuff like comics, video games, fantasy novels, anime, comic books, and movies in the past 30 years. Fairly easy to get it completely baffled with old timey sports figures though.

Dr. Gregory House in 10 questions. I'm trying to figure something even more common for a lower score.

MAGIC.
Mr. Boddy from Clue.
I wonder if that was unfair.

Lots of other people have chosen him. Your responses = their responses.
JamesKeenan: "Who's Jordan Capri?"
*googling... googling... googling...*
 :winky: 8-)

Yes, but there must be more than one person who matches the exact, vague criteria I gave.
Hahha hell yeah xenogears.

Before that, 27 for Faye Valentine. At 20 it guessed wrong with Jenna Haze.
“The moon's an arrant thief, And her pale fire she snatches from the sun.” - Mark Twain
You are almost certain Mark Twain said that.
I actually googled it when that line came up.
Ok, I'm obviously not going to stump it with questions about video game characters.
I actually just accepted it at face value. Which, being an English major, is really quite embarrassing.
weeeak
damn
It only appears in Hamlet.
MSPA likes to give misattributed quotes.
It is the best thing.
Also, main characters from Terry Pratchet are going to be too mainstream to beat it with.

i.e. the one Shakespeare play Kinbote had with him, though in a bad Zemblan translation
Edit: It got Jorge Luis Borges, but not before guessing Che
It got "me" in 14 questions.
I really liked that book a lot.
I wonder if I still would. I'm not sure I have the discipline or patience for Nabokov anymore.
