Yeah, I have played it a bit. Steam says 5 hours. I have this thing for spinning out though. Sometimes I can get a good drift going, but other times I have to grandma around turns or go spiraling into a wall.

I'll admit doing the same thing myself at first. It just takesa little practise and it'll click. Try not to brake during the turn itself, i think that makes it spin.

Drifting around corner is all about the throttle control. Most of the time spinning out is caused by just mashing the throttle. You want to keep the wheels spinning, but just enough to keep the car sideways into the next corner.

Also don't forget to counter-steer. There have been many times in DIRT 2 where just mashing the throttle and going into opposite lock has saved my bacon.

I hope DIRT 3 has more options for a more sim experience. Overall the driving in DIRT2 is school-girl-giggling-inducing fun, but there are some parts where I just say to myself, "I should have not been able to do that."

So I just upgraded from an HD4850 to a GTX460, only because I wanted shiny DX11 graphics in Dirt 2 and then Dirt 3.

    I find this adequately justified.

I bought this in the Steam sale, and am enjoying it, but is there a way I can set it so I can use my controller? Keyboard doesn't seem ideal.

You should be able to. I'm using a PS2 controller using a generic PS2 -> USB converter and it works just fine.

That's what I would be using, but I can't actually figure out how to make the game recognise it.

It's definitely not my controller, I was using it just fine in Super Meat Boy.

But for some reason this game just won't accept its input, and I've scoured the menus looking for a way to turn it on with no success.
