A syringe and plunger type object with low friction.

I'm trying to make a test tube stirling engine and I'm having issue with the piston. Right now, I have a plastic syringe with the plunger wrapped with teflon tape (rubber gasket thingy is off). While this gives me a decent enough piston, it just isnt cutting it.
Ideally I would use a glass syringe, but that isn't a option right now.
Do you guys have any suggestion on a syringe and plunger like object with relatively low friction?
I'm assuming the glass syringe is out due to cost.
What are we looking at in concerns of budget eThugs?

glass syringe is out mostly due to time. If push come to shove, I'll just get one off of ebay and play the waiting game.
Budget isnt too much of a concern, as long as it isnt insane in terms of the current cost of this project (right now it cost nothing to have gotten this far.)
