Hulu is choppy in full screen

First of all, here's my system specs.

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
Google Chrome
AMD Turion II Ultra Dual-Core Mobile M600 2.40 GHz
4.00 GB RAM
AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 (Approx Total Memory 1970 MB)

I experienced this issue with my previous laptop which was much less powerful as well.
Whenever I watch hulu and without doing full screen it runs perfectly smooth. However when I make it full screen it becomes really choppy. This happens in Chrome and firefox. Is there anything I can do to make it run smoother or is that just how hulu is?

I've had nothing but problems getting mine to run smoothly on fullscreen as well. It's better if I don't have it in 480 and if I right click the screen, go to settings, and change the quality to medium. But it's still not great.

Right click, settings , turn off "Enable Hardware Acceleration". This worked for me, anyway.

Flash videos still suck up my CPU usage like crazy, though. No idea what to do about that.

I have the same problem, but I figured it had to do with using a laptop's built in video card to display on a 23' widescreen monitor. I'll have to try the hardware acceleration thing.

Yeah, it's probably the hardware acceleration. I'd have my video freeze on me completely, but that fixed it.

Flash's hardware acceleration is still pretty wonky. Though supposedly its going to be fixed in the next major update.

The Flash 10.1 beta reduces CPU load while playing flash videos, allowing them to play smoothly. You can find it here. Now I can play HD hulu videos fullscreen without any choppiness! Of course, it's still a beta, so use at your own risk.
