Hey everyone. This isn't a spam thread or me trying to hawk my console on the PA forums, so don't freak out or anything.
I'm coming here because I've found that I have bias toward selling things for less than they're probably worth. This might be because I am, myself, a giant cheapskate.
Anyway, down to brass tacks. I'm unemployed and need Christmas moneys. To improve the situation in my bank account, I took a look at the valuable shit in my room and decided that I can most easily live with myself if all I sell is my Wii, since I honestly hardly use it these days.
Since I've downloaded a number of games to the console, I figured it was worth a little more than the average used Wii, and decided
$150 was a fair price. Then I decided to take a tally of all the shit it includes just for kicks.
Three or four physical games, all the "starting" hardware + a wiimote, and roughly
45 (47, but I might have missed a non-game channel or two) downloaded games. I had no idea how many of those fuckers I'd collected (sneaky Nintendo, very sneaky.). I'd say it's about half NES games, with the rest being SNES, N64 and WiiWare titles. Maybe fewer NES than I'm imagining though, I couldn't be bothered to actually count up everything by title (yet).
Even if they were all NES games, that's over $180 in games right there. Seeing as how they aren't all NES, I'd say it's probably close to $250, maybe a little less.
I'm going to try selling this to my sister, since she just recently had a kid and I like the idea of my little niece inheriting a console full of classics. If that pans out, I'll probably still stick with the $150 price. If she can't afford that, though, what do you guys think is a fair price for something like this?
Recap:
- Used Wii + accessories
- At least three Wii Games, maybe four, plus a Gamecube game (Wind Waker)
- ~45 downloaded games
Worth = ????

If you sell it all to an outside party 200-225.
i'd think you could get $250 for it if you were sure to mention the number of games
ebay the sucker and see who bites (i seriously sold a copy of earthbound covered in dinosaur stickers for $80)
If my sister doesn't want it, I may end up resurrecting this thread for eBay tips.
Keep in mind that you're going to be eating the cost of your downloaded games.
