This new nameplate system they put it sucks major ass.

Let's say you have a house. Outside it there's one group, and inside it is another. If you have nameplates on, you can see the nameplates of everybody inside the house, even if you're not in it. Whether you want to or not. If you're fighting the group outside, if you're looking the right way, you'll have the plates of the other group spammed onto your screen, overlapping with the plates of the group you're actually fighting. And the game will happily let you tab to them as well, further screwing things up. There's no way that I could see to filter this shit off.

I mean, I guess it's really useful to see exactly who is inside something, or behind a corner, or whatnot. But I also don't need those bars on my screen when the group is around a corner and out of sight. Stupid annoying bullshit.

They went way overboard on the whole making tanking less stressful in five mans stuff, using CC and pulling safely was fun, wrestling with aggro wasn't.

I've tried to use it occasionally in HoS for the caster groups.

The problem is, LoS doesn't work unless the whole group is onboard and not tards.

I managed to fix it, but it ain't pretty. I had to boot up in safemode and change the wow.exe permissions to allow me to run it, then copy that .exe to another folder. Now every time I restart wow, I need to copy the .exe I changed back into the wow folder over the .exe I can't use. It's a complete bitch to do and I wonder how they expect anyone to discover this.

Wouldn't be a beast raid if Gev wasn't dead twice in one pull.

Though I do totally take the blame for one of those deaths tonight. I was having trouble hearing you over the in game music (was turning it on just for the new instances) and only heard "Don't attack during the mirror attack." Didn't hear the why part.

In retrospect, it was a mistake to use army of the dead prior to the pull, since they can not turn off their attack.

There's two groups of items that can be inside them. One includes bracers, rings, necklaces and cloaks. The other has belts, boots, gloves and shoulder items. What you'll find in the satchel is one item from each group, and this is also further influenced by a ten level range. So for example, what is in a satchel received for completing a dungeon between levels 20 and 30 might be a nice necklace and some gloves, but from a dungeon between 50 and 60 you might get a ring and some new boots.

Pretty good runs tonight, server was much stabler than expected.

Tried the random dungeon and got Gundrak right off, so that was a ton of easy emblems plus our bonus 2 frost emblems. Then ran part of Naxx and cleared the weekly raid quest there for 5 more frost and 5 triumph emblems. Then did the first of the new dungeons (on heroic) and cleared it with only a single wipe (and I got a new epic dagger for my rogue, and someone else got the battered hilt, both off of trash mobs).
Then we lost a member but decided to try another random dungeon and see who it gives us for a fifth.

We got Utgarde Pinnacle for the dungeon, and a gnome warrior from another server for the pugger. And this guy was insane. Literally. He actually had the Insane title, which considering the requirements is a mark of insanity if I ever saw one. He also had nearly 10K achievement points, and blew up everything in a matter of seconds. He never said anything but "Telemundo!" and we cleared the whole dungeon in 15 minutes and then he handed all the loot he won to the tank and left. He might have been a robot. Still, probably the best pug'd player I've worked with.

Edit: Also, I was getting Frosthold rep from the heroics, which is the only Northrend faction I'm not exalted with (aside from Frenzyheart, who I used to be exalted with, and the new Ashen Verdict). Kind of annoyed that I wasted all that time grinding Explorer's League to exalted.

You can turn off the overlapping inthe interface options, I can't remember the exact name of the option but it's the one where you can also turn off/on NPC names and whatnot.

I played with that. It helps a little, but not much.

To be honest though, I didn't even notice it at first. Mainly because instances today are pretty much just straight linear lines, so nothing seemed weird while doing the Icecrown wings. But then I went into the Battle of Durnholde to grind out some rep, and that's when I saw what was going on. And it was damn near unbearable. I shouldn't be able to accidently click or tab target something that is around a corner and out of my sight. It has its uses for sure, but there needs to be a way to filter it out somehow.

Enjoyed the 5-mans. We were lucky enough to be able to join them, and after a few spots of lag, complete them. They seemed way too short, but still pretty neat.

Bosses still feel like simple tank/spanks, and CC is still pointless. Would have liked to have seen more of a challenge. Our healer was still in blues, not even ToC geared.

I'm a little wary about this "Needs better gear" checking they're doing... I can see a hunter that's gathered a bunch of high iLevel cloth items in LFG, just to get past that check... then switching to his blues/greens once in the instance.

As far as our guilds size we're just barely out of reach of doing 25man and now that we have crossrealm lfg the only thing the population really limits is the amount of pug raids which are still common enough that I personally haven't found it a problem. There isn't a good balance between alliance and horde though I've never seen the alliance with less then 3 tenacity in WG personally.
I do heartily recommend the server though I haven't really run into too many assholes

Balance is a little better than it used to be, which was somewhere in the 70/30 ratio, though Horde still has a distinct population advantage.

This is also partly due to the plethora of Blood Elf RP guilds. I'm sure at least 15% of the Horde population doesn't even leave Silvermoon.
