Is it doing what's fun? What's productive? A little of one and the other? Something that lets you just scratch out a living and not care because you love what you do? Or something that you can exploit so you make tons of money, and always ask yourself, "How could I make more?"
Is it focusing on a talent and then expanding on it with schooling? Or is it focusing on the little things that you like and doing each one? Does a "true calling" have to be only one thing? Or can it be many things that each hold a special place in your heart?
What the hell is a true calling? Or maybe more importantly to you, what's your true calling?
Myself? I like to think that it'd be fun to go into film. I did two classes in high school and I'm getting ready to get some basics and other things done in a community college. Does getting into film require going to film school? Or even any type of degree? Or should I just get an associates and then go from there on my own? Using youtube for an audience and watching netflix, experiencing life for ideas and studying history and fine arts?

I don't think you have to go to film school to get into film. Depending on what you want to do. I read a lot of books and hired peole to do the things I didn't know how to do.
My favourite drink i discovered and then vowed to never drink again was Whiskey and rum.
Like just...put together?
At a party, kind of tipsy, out of mixers. Well, rum goes down smooth, and i like whiskey. What if i use rum as the mixer. standard 3:2 ratio and bam, evening in a glass.

i think if you go to film school in the region where you want to make films isnt necessarily a bad idea. it's a good way to network and build a foundation to work with once you get out of school. basically just get a little head start
other than that, no, everything you need to learn you can learn by doing it
