We probably could have theoretically done it eventually, since our best try was down to 35% before someone finally died immediately after a whirlwind and things derailed from there, but it was just getting everything done for several phases in a row with no mistakes that eluded us. And people were starting to pull out the old "I can't pay attention, it's 5 AM here and I'm falling asleep on the keyboard" excuse.
Preemptive answer: AuctionProfit.
Hope: 2 days off that I can spend random dungeoning up a whole mess o' Triumphs.
Hahaha: Wiped on our first attempt for Devourer today, after which the Shadow Priest threatens to kick all the DPS if he gets killed by Mirror again, til the healer points out that he did, in fact, kill himself :winky:

Seal of Blood. Been there, done that.
The tanks should save their tanking CDs for when he impales someone. The way it worked out is that I was able to use one of my CDs every time a healer got impaled.
The fight is just as important for tanks to be on the ball as it is healers.
That run also gave me enough emblems to buy 3 pieces of whatever is the PvP gear you can buy with emblems.
The fact that his specs are correct tells me that this gear is for fucking with people.
I just loaded it up and didn't see any weird gear choices. He's now wearing 5/5 245-level T9, several ToGC items, and about the only odd aspect is that his belt has a +34 agi gem, a +20 agi gem, and a +16 agi gem in it.
When I checked him out last night he had 2 pieces with Attack Power and everything else was Spellpower. And his necklace was some Spellpower piece from Molten Core.
yeah saber lash is a brand new mechanic that we've never seen in a raid encounter ever, not even in TBC twice so people are really inexperienced with dealing with it
Much like dragons and them being dangerous in both ends.
Oh my: So I queue for FoS and then get in. Start doing my tank thing, get to Bronjahm, and trouble starts. People aren't killing the soul fragments, so he heals like 5 times. We finally kill him, and the mace doesn't drop. We move on, and kill the Floaty Head guy. This is where I'm surprised. I get the achievement for clearing out the heroic version. I thought I had queued for regular, but I guess not. He drops the plate boots, which I get, and then the caster sword.
Upgrades be upgrades.
Hate: For the legendary, we had the people who could use it roll off and if we get to the dragon and if it drops, they automatically get it. I lost the roll to the loot whore DK :x
Happy: The tradeoff is that you cannot get trinkets or weapons with your "weapon DKP" (we're doing a really odd system this time around) if you win the roll for the legendary, so I can get stuff as it drops (potentially, my roll still sucks)
The tank, and healer both were saying "Nice gear score noob, you wont be able to keep up, we should kick you" etc etc.
4k dps later on most of the fights, and topping recount on not only boss fights, but overall, I proceed to tell them "Nice tanking, oh and learn to keep aggro, and learn to remember that a lock has to Lifetap before each pull mister healer who never healed me during a major lifetap" and promptly leave.
I swear people are pretty stupid when it comes to that addon.
if people odn't kill the soul fragments, just kite the boss. they move slower than he does.
If I do the lfg random on any of my characters that are 70+ do the bosses drop Triumph? or do you just get the two for the instance?
It's amazing that I log on my warrior enter the lfg and the longest I have waited was 2 minutes
My rogue mage and warlock wait 10 minutes or more
A hate is the asshole from Old kingdom
He would not shut up about how he was 80 for two weeks how he has been lucky with drops and how my dps on my rogue sucked
Edit:
On the plus side, I hit friendly with Ashen Verdict, So I got my healy ring. Back up over 500 haste again, finally.
Happy: Found random tank and random healer to fill in the empty spots, finished up anyway.
i've had DPS tell me to stop pulling when they were out of mana. how about, fuck you, sit down to drink and catch up when you can.
healer being out of mana, maybe, but that healer better have expended every single mana return ability as well as those of the party members too (innervates, hymn of hope, shadowfiends, divine plea, mana tide). thats what those abilities are there for.
unless running with an undergeared tank, no healer should ever need to drink in a heroic if they use those abilities.
it was so fucking annoying last night running with a druid healer. he was out of mana constantly and never used innervate. when I asked him to stop wasting my time and use innervate, he said "I'm saving it for when I need it!". Oh really. Well, you're out of mana, so I guess you need it.
do you seriously say "fuck you" when a dps says they have to drink?
the fuck you is an internal one.
helll, even if all three dps are sitting and drinking, i'll go pull the next pack with the healer. tank's do enough aoe dps these days t be able to whittle down a pack of mobs to at least 60-70%.
The Old Kingdom run I did on my rogue was awful
The elitest paladin telling people on and on about how he has been 80 for two weeks and been really lucky with drops we had little excuse for our lack of dps{the mage had better gear than he did but I thought they are a bot program}
The healer had just picked up dual spec's and was learning to heal again {they said it had been 9 months since they last were heal spec'd}
The druid who tanked Heroic Hos for my brother has voiced his opinion about how the dps was lacking repeatedly over the entire run
The hunter was being a gung ho grandpa pulling everything even when they took a afk break to argue
A few times I have found myself having to evocate at the beginning of a boss fight because the tank pulled pretty shortly after finishing off 4 or 5 groups in a row.
misdirect, especially now that it's timed not charged if its a group I can just misdirect an entire volley round onto the tank, which is handy.
It didn't bother me at all, gave me a lot of freedom as far as not worrying about threat. (Every now and again I would string crits and have to back off for a smidgeon unless the thing was within 10k of dying.)
I'm pretty late with this but it is seriously good. When I logged in for the first time after 3.3 I queued for a random heroic and got Forge of Souls (as healer). We cleared it easily (one wipe because DPS didn't know to stop on Devourer of Souls), went to Pit and cleared that without problems. Went to Halls and wiped twice, because I couldn't keep them up. Also we were dumb, because we just stood in the middle and the Warrior tank couldn't pull the mobs and the dps wasn't countering enough and the altar in the middle gave me LoS issues etc. Then the priest respecced to healing (he had T9ish gear compared to my ilevel ~219) and I respecced to dps and we did it.
The group stayed friendly all the time, nobody was complaining about the wipes. Best part: The chest at the end had the Mace, which is great for my Enhancement set. The Rogue won it and when I said something like "damn, but grats anyway" he opened trade and gave it to me. In a random cross-server pickup group. I never would have thought this could happen.
Of course I now have met some idiots, but I don't think any group can change my opinion of /LFD after this first experience.
"This is my first time tanking an instance, so I might make mistakes"
I tell him this is fine, and that it shouldn't be a problem. We complete the place fine, but there's a rogue in the group and he dies twice. Once due to taking agro off the tank on the 2nd boss, and once due to pulling a patrolling pat on the way to Loken.
Is any of that is his fault? For outgearing the tank and not paying any fucking attention to his agro on a boss, and not hitting vanish the second the boss turned around? Or standing in a place and pulling a group that proceeded to kill him?
Oh no, it's the healers fault, because apparently I should have forseen him tanking the boss and healed him through it, in addition to throwing him a heal, and thus get a fresh group head towards me due to the agro.
Also, lets totally ignore the lock that is on auto-follow unless it comes to bosses. I called him out on it, asked "are you ok?" to which he said he was fine, at which point I then said "I'm only asking, because it seems you're not doing anything at all on the trash, and that you are auto following the mage".
"oh yeah, I got lag"
Yes, lag caused you to put on auto follow.
I also did a UK, and I got shit from a tank because he died on trash. He did shut the fuck up when I asked if it was something new in the patch, that I was unable to see Frost presence in his buffs.
not so.
turns out hunter players make awful warrior tanks. I called her out on it when she tried to blame my healing, and she goes into a hissy fit. Best thing is, nobody takes her seriously because she's a mediocre hunter at best, and has already ragequit the guild once because she didn't get to sit in on Celestial Defender.
but I don't like hunters so I threw that in there too
Some guildies and I were doing some heroics for badges, and since as the tank I'm way overgeared for them our healer had basically nothing to do. After the first boss in H VH I decide to just go DPS and see how it worked, and we downed the rest of the instance with no issues. We then go on to do H HoS and blow through the place like a hurricane. I had to log for the night, but I'm sure we'll do more later on.
