I'm sure most of you are aware of Australia's abysmal classification scheme for videogames (i.e. one lacking an R18+ rating). Well, the gubberment has finally released its discussion paper on the subject. You can both download the paper and, more importantly, respond to the government's request for feedback, here:

http://www.ag.gov.au/gamesclassification

You can also find a summary of the paper on Kotaku:

http://www.kotaku.com.au/2009/12/govt-releases-r18-discussion-paper-for-public-consultation/

The submission process is a simple questionnaire with an optional comments section with a 250 word limit.

The current system has denied, delayed or defiled many-a-game in the recent past: the most recent of which being Left 4 Dead 2 and the new Alien vs. Predator. In short, they want to deny the people of a country where everything is trying to kill them the right to fight back (I kid, I kid).

Rather than just canvassing for submissions, I'd also like to promote discussion of this topic. Perhaps you agree with the current Australian system [tiny]you heartless monster[/tiny]. Or perhaps you have something to say about game censorship or politics in some other part of the world? Go ahead, hopefully the government is listening too.
