Another thread about gift helpage!
I'm looking for one or two more things to flesh out Christmas for my fiancee. I've been told by several people that I'm
terrible at buying gifts, so I turn to the Internet for help.
So far, this is what I have purchased:
Two DVDs
(David Suzuki's 'The Nature of Things' and a set of "Global Warming" documentaries--manufactured landscapes, a crude awakening, and the refugees of the blue planet) She is a high school teacher, and geography is one of her main teachables. She is a huge environment nut.
A bunch of socks
(This is a yearly thing and something she has come to expect, so she doesn't buy socks knowing she's getting some from me.)
Shin pads
(She plays soccer year round, indoor, outdoor, etc. She is still using worn out shin pads she has had for the last 15 years, and they barely stay on any more. These ones are also detachable from the ankle support, which is great because she hates wearing the ankle supports.)
A pair of white gold, pearl earrings.
(I mentioned pearl earrings months ago as a gift for something else, and she said she would love to own a pair. So..)
So I'm basically looking for a couple inexpensive things to round this out. We weren't supposed to go nuts on each other this year, since we're planning on buying a television on boxing day.
About her:
- Not really a gamer, but she plays with my on occasion.
- Not really a recreational reader.
- High school teacher.
- Environment buff.
I'm weary of buying her clothes because she might not like them, seeing as my eye for fashion is very much far sighted. I am also quite against the idea of gift cards, at least between the two of us.

They have a bunch of small non-expensive items that are useful.
