The 26th will be my 10th anniversary with my girlfriend, and I'm finally getting off my lazy ass and getting her a ring. Anyone have any suggestions for good, romantic spots to do it? I'll be taking her out to dinner, and we were thinking of drinks afterwards, so I was thinking perhaps in between would be a good time. It'll be dark and probably cold. Right now I'm thinking of Land's End Trail near Lincoln Park, the view of the bridge is supposed to be pretty good. Any other suggestions, H/A?
(this is an alt account because she has admitted to e-stalking me at every opportunity)
Do you have any super meaningful locations with her?
For example "that one place where we danced and didn't say a word and all was right and yadda yadda". Those memorable spots are always nice to retrace.
If not that then I say the trail is fine. Looks nice enough. Dress warm and make sure it isn't too dark outside.
You might look into the ruins of the Sutro Baths. Great views of the ocean and the Seal Rocks, with the Cliff House nearby, where you could get drinks beforehand.
The pictures don't really do the setting justice. They're really eerily beautiful, especially around sunset.
It's close enough to Columbus & Broadway that you can walk it from there, and there are plenty of places in that area to get drinks/food/coffee/etc. And it's not going to be a huge hike. (Just a little hike )
It's not well-known enough to have a shitload of tourists and it's not cliche.
Feral on
every person who doesn't like an acquired taste always seems to think everyone who likes it is faking it. it should be an official fallacy.

Maybe get out there at sunset.

But I'm going to throw in a recommendation for Ina Coolbrith Park.
