So yeah, i guess firefox doesn't run on xp sp3?

As the title says. Updated to winXP SP3. Firefox 3.5, 3.6beta, old 3.0.14, absolutely refuse to run. all other browsers, ie7, safari, chrome, other mozillas (seamonkey build), all fine.

any one have any ideas?

    I have Windows XP SP 3 on my netbook and firefox runs fine.
    Have you tried completely uninstalling and reinstalling?
    Do you have any addons installed?

    yup. nuked the ff 3.5 install, reinstalled, nuked, installed 3.6beta, no dice. went to oldversion and pulled a 3.0.15. nothing. crashes straight to crash reporter. fresh installs, no profiles, no addons, nothing. running down the problem, seems like there are other people with this issue, but no solid answers.

    I'm running it on three different XP SP3 computers, one at home and two at work, no problem.

    Have you tried manually clearing out the registry entries for it?

    I have about oh 5,000 XP SP3 machines at work all with firefox on them.
    It's your machine, not sure why or what would cause it. Post the crash log

    yeah. no idea. i think this is just going to be a temp thing until I rebuild with win7.

    tho I'd really like to have it back in the mean time.

    Seems weird, any addons that are installed and maybe left over?

    Go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\extension\
    Check the folder {972ce4c6-7e08-4474-a285-3208198ce6fd}
    Could be files left over causing a crash.
    Delete them, try again.

    no dice. tried starting in safe mode as well. instant crash. i just bought win7, and waiting on the parts for my main production computer upgrade.

    fun weekend of backing things up. yay.
