Macbook Pro vs Projector. *oddly, Bootcamped XP works*

FallingmanFallingman Registered User regular
So, I have an old Projector (Sanyo Multimedia Pro X-III).

It wont work with my MBP while using a DVI to VGA adapter (cable is fine). External monitors work. I've tried changing the resolutions, colours (I never get the option to change the refresh rate). F7 doesnt work, nor does "detect display".

Annoyingly, if I bootcamp into XP - it all works fine!

Google tells me that this is a relatively common issue. It doesn't tell me whether there are any solutions...

Given that XP works, it must be a software issue. Can anyone help with this?

I would try downloading DisplayConfigX and setting it to the exact resolution, refresh rate, and color count as your projector. This is a common problem with most projectors and OSX.
