What are some good ways to lower my electric bill cause holy shit it's high this month.
Use less electricity.
Do you own your place or is your landlord agreeable? If so then try and take advantage of the new tax credits for major appliances and update to something that's more efficient. Lower your thermostat after buying more afghans/blankets/sweaters. Actually unplug things if you don't expect to be using them very often or hook 'em up to a surge protector and shut that off since you aren't really benefiting from wall warts but you are paying for 'em.
Anything past that is basically going Amish and you shouldn't have to read porn by candlelight. You aren't Abe Lincoln.
This time of year, the power consumption on heating is, like, a billion times more than anything else.
My roommate and I run our computers pretty much 24/7, 365 days a year, and if we start using heat, our power bill more than doubles (though, it's not really that high to begin with).
Yes. Which is why I said he should lower his thermostat...

Luckily my computer pretty much doubles as a space heater.
Like, I have it on 65, is that unreasonably high? It's cold in here.
I think the house is just leaking heat like a sieve cause it's old.
The higher the heat is, the more it's going to cost you. Like, it's not a linear growth; it costs you significantly more to raise the temperature from 64 to 65 than it does to raise the temperature from 63 to 64. So, you're best off getting it as low as you can stand, and wearing layers until you get into bed, under your huge, awesome blankets and comforters.
It helps if you like to sleep cold (I like my room 40-45ish for sleeping).

Gotta love those old Athlon 64s.
Yeah, definitely doesn't hurt. Especially with the ridiculous ventilation my computer has. I'm running an old Athlon 64 as well (3000+), but my after-market fan keeps it ridiculously cool.

I have a nice electric blanket in my bed, so it's fine that my bedroom is cold from having the door closed all the time. I guess I'll put it at 64. I've lowered the temp every bill I've gotten this winter and each one has gone higher and higher.
Actually Res what I meant is, in general, the miltary's job isn't to kill people. It's a frequent corrollary, but not its primary role.
True, capturing usually takes precedence over killing.
I've heard that for Iraq, but I heard things were different in Afghanistan.
The same for the other thing you said.
Yeah, because when you're out in the middle of nowhere on a tiny COP you're not going to have room for EPWs, and it's not as easy to catch the enemy sleeping in Afghanistan compared to Iraq.
Edit: What, about medics shooting in Afghanistan? I don't know about that. Casualties are normally a lot more common in Afghanistan (but the wounds more often tend to be fatal in Iraq). So you'll be spending a lot of time treating casualties in Afghanistan than Iraq. I still doubt you would fire many rounds if any.
I wonder how long it takes you to die from a headshot.
My squad leader lived several hours after receiving one, and one of our PLs wasn't even killed by one (he sustained major brain damage though).
Res: It looks like the first (and only) stryker brigade to be sent to Afghanistan isn't doing so well over there. The stryker is a vehicle better suited to urban combat anyway, and it gets stuck really easily in mud. I doubt you will (and hope you don't) get sent to Afghanistan while you're in 2SCR.

Me too. Right now all of our training is for rail ops, and, as far as I know, there isn't an extensive railway infrastructure in Afghanistan.

THE ONLY batman cartoon is "Batman:TAS".
Just like the only Clone wars series is the original hand animated version.
Not the pile of CG crap they put out now.

Unless you're a Marine.

Depends. If it hits the medulla oblongata then it's virtually instantaneous.
I'd imagine.
That's pretty much the only place where it would be instantaneous, right?

the "no true scotch man" fallacy.
i don't....i don't think so

is that it?
Kind of, only with just Carl Sagan and a dash of Stephen Hawking.

Well then, damn. Is there anyway to make a table that doesn't involve counting spaces?
you'll have to use code tags, i think

I've seen a guy hit in the head with an RPG-7 round.
It bounced off his helmet and gave him a concussion but he was mostly okay.
I'll listen to it in a bit.
I'm still exhausted from all the butt loving eddy and I had.
Will likes to watch.
Oh, have you already reported to your unit?
being gay is not an excuse.
Watson, come here. And other hilarious broadcasts.
